This collage is from a prior post. Ginny asked why the palms were pink.
Below is another shot of the top of the tree.
Below is the bottom
and Behold, The Whole Tree. Shocking, isn't it... It is about 15 feet tall. The fronds are dead and need to be trimmed. look closely at the trunk and you can see where all the others were trimmed over the years.
Perfect example, of don't judge a tree by part of a picture. Or something like that.
Wow, just this one tree is really blogworthy. It is really something else. And all the growth the entire length of the trunk, telling it's history I guess. They look like little fans. I would never have guessed this from your first blog picture of it a week or so ago.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I feel like that tree! Parts of me look better than others.....
ReplyDeleteI'm with Linda!
ReplyDeleteour palm tree looks the same... that eans we have to trim it too right? the brown leaves will be never go back to green?
ReplyDeleteThat was my first thought, that they were dead. How interesting that they will grow all the way up the tree like that.
ReplyDeleteMy head was like that till Wednesday..

Lol on Linda's comment. And YOUR humor comes thru in your narration.
ReplyDeleteThat tree is exactly how I feel sometimes, perky at the top but dying underneath.

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI love the palms. It is a shame that the dead fronds just don't fall to the ground. Enjoy your day, happy weekend!
Palms have always intrigued me...well done on capturing their beauty

Me, too … with Linda, that is! Tree-trimming's certainly an art; probably pricey, too. I hope your shoulder's improved some?
ReplyDeleteHow amazing it is that there are so many gorgeous trees to admire.
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique tree! Love it.
ReplyDeleteWe have a few palms growing in our neighborhood also.
ReplyDeleteThey sure can be messy when they drop their fronds...and they are very sharp too.
the date palms sure get to be a mess too when all the "fruit" drops every which way.
Have a terrific day.
Sue
P.S. Linda's remark made me laugh and Rose's comment. Ugh, I just can't stand my hair..a perm is so badly needed. I'm afraid to cut any more off...all of my curl will be gone..then I will look like The Shaggy Dog !!

Poor tree, it definitely needs a trim.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how you perceive something when yu don't see the whole thing!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool looking palm tree.
ReplyDeleteLooks like there is a lot of new growth.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure maintaining those palms is a lot of work especially once they grow tall, but there is no excuse for this little tree, someone should clean it up.
ReplyDeletei love palm trees for some reason. i agree with Debby's comment... it definitely needs a trim.
