I will be taking a day or maybe 2 off.. Two more closets 1 cabinet and window washing
The above house, use your mind and remove all the white trim, the screen door and the steps, turn it blue asphalt shingles, add concrete blocks for steps and a horrid roof.
Ugly Blue Sqaure Shack for all the years we drove by it.
UNTIL NOW
. From 1989 to 2014 it was a mess of a house. It was sitting on concrete blocks and had 4 concrete block as a step up.
In 2014 it sold and was painted and bottom enclosed and remained an ugly box.
it has been remodeled in phases. I found these photos on the tax records.
By 2018 per tax records it looked like this.
We missed it because we stopped driving that way..
2 weeks ago we found the house completed.
Below are the photos I took a couple of weeks ago.
The Wraparound Porch Changed the whole house
My New Most Favorite House

yes!!! that's like magic somehow... love it with the porch...
ReplyDeleteWhat a big difference and such a great porch which really makes this place POP now. Enjoy your break, Sandra, but don’t work too hard.
ReplyDeleteWow! Someone had amazing vision with this remodel, it's gorgeous! Hurry up and get that work done so you can get back here with us soon. :)
ReplyDeleteMine, too! Color me, swooning over that porch. And the shutters, too. Wish I had had that sort of vision (and $) 20 years ago.
ReplyDeletePlease, take it easy!
A beautiful transition for sure :) I love to be able to sit on a porch!
ReplyDeleteAmazing transformation. As my dad used to say, "Just add money"! But someone had to have loved that little house and seen its potential.
ReplyDeleteErrol would have called that porch a veranda and he would loved it. I like it too, what a nice place to sit and watch the world go by.

Sans porch it sort of looked like the kind of houses that kids draw. Wrap around porches have always been my favorite house accessory. It is why I love old houses in NZ much more than newer ones; porches (or verandahs as we call them) were pretty much standard.
ReplyDeleteYou can never count a house as down and out.
ReplyDeleteLove the wrap around porch. It just makes the home "home-ier"
ReplyDeleteI'm glad someone moved in that really loves their home.

That PORCH!!! It is unique and beautiful! And I think the side with the carport is much prettier than any other side of it. They did a fantastic job, must be designers or architects or something.
ReplyDeleteI love the wrap around porch, it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break, I hope you are not working too hard.
Oh that wrap around porch is fabulous. Love it. Are those hurricane shutters that I see in the last few pictures?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! ❤️

That porch is absolutely lovely.
ReplyDeleteNice to see it has had a makeover.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wrap!
ReplyDeleteWhat a makeover! It is intriguing to me to see the many houses that we pass regularly that obviously now belong to younger folks. Updates and additions plus kids swings, forts an riding toys are evidence of a changing of the guard!
ReplyDeleteI love a wrap around porch. Sigh....always a big dream of mine. That is a lovely home. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks fabulous!
ReplyDeletelove it.
