Happy New Year 2022

Self-Portrait by Gail

Do we reflect our goodness

To the people we meet?

Or does our badness show

As plainly as our feet

I can reflect on actions past

I can reflect the sun

But all reflections

Are things that are done

We must take this moment

Like a tiger by the tail

Reflect on consequences

Mark our decisions well

For only in a moment

Can we decide for sure

How we will reflect our light

Let it be good and pure

This poem was written by a blog friend in 2013, Gail At The Farm no longer blogs, but her poem lives on.

  8. "Reflect on consequences" ... wow. This is perfect, not only for New Year's Day but every day. I'm clipping and printing for my own little book of 'keepers.'

PS - Yes, I'm loving that flamingo! Ride 'em cowgirl!

  14. The quote reminds me of Edith Wharton"s, "There are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it." Either one works for us bloggers.

    Have a wonderful new year!

  15. Hello Sandra. I hope Bob is on the mend, and you are both feeling OK. I was sorry to know about the Hiccups, must have been terrible to go on for so long, but I'm glad it's been sorted. The poem is beautiful, and I hope the cute little you riding a flamingo is how you are feeling, uplifted and happy. All the best for this year, with better everything!!
