Bee In My Bonnet 3

My Tiny Temporary desk
The desk we bashed and toted to the curb is Gone.

Replaced with this table that I bought for $15.00 in 1985. We furnished our house with flea market finds.
On the way to work, I saw it sitting in the yard to a house with a sign that said $15.00.

I repurposed the drawer from the old desk to raise the height of the computer.

Shhh! Don't tell Bob!
He has no idea that I have PLANS!
The pulldown shades and the lace curtains were hung October of 1985.
There is a trundle bed put there in 2004 and never moved.
It is jammed against the wall and I used to stand on it to take down the curtains to wash them and the windows and now I cannot.
We managed with many words to get them down and back up, but that can not
happen again.
A couple of items to go To the Curb.
Carpet to Clean if you know what I mean.

  1. What a true stroke of genius (oh wait, never say STROKE to a senior) to use the drawer to raise the monitor! It doesn't look bad either. I have similar curtains.

  3. That table is just the right size. If I had something that size I wouldn't be able to leave messes all over my desk.
I won't whisper a word about you having plans.

  5. Hello,
I like your computer desk, it is a good idea to raise the monitor.
I can see you have plans to redo the room, new curtains?

  6. It's hard to figure out changes but you have some good ideas. I have 2 small pieces of furniture I want to get rid of but don't like to shop for replacements! lol Always something!

  8. Are you reading my mind? Almost every morning I walk in the office/spare bedroom and scowl at the trundle bed pushed against the window, the ratty bookcase. Thinking ....

This temporary 'fix' with the old drawer looks pretty clever. (And makes me ask, are you left-handed, too?) I can't wait to see what you have up your Snapper sleeve!

  9. I get this post!!! after I quit laughing! It took me 2 years and many heated discussions to get my husband's office cleaned out. I finally took a sledge hammer to his old desk forcing him to buy a new one. 2 years and $1200 later he is happy with the newer office layout and purge. My nose is sore from pushing that boulder though!! ~jackie~

  12. I love how you figure things out...Can't wait to see what's going to happen to the trundle and curtains.
If I only had the energy to do some of the things you do.

  13. Mum's the word from here as well, Sandra, as far as letting Bob know your future plans and we all are waiting to hear about and see them as well.

  14. I wonder what your plan is....
Good for you being motivated. Glad the desk is working out.

  15. I've been wondering whether one reaches a stage in life where what you have, does - so to speak. Our furniture represents a life time of collecting (other people's) junk and repurposing it. Every piece is a story. However I realize that as age advances so does the way we use our homes and the kinds of rooms we need. Can't wait to get the rest of the box-set.....

  19. Hi Sandra, :=) Yes,...It's an uphill struggle to get things done as one gets older. We have to adapt to our needs. The drawer was a good idea to raise the monitor desk. New Curtains might be on your list of plans, and maybe you have ideas about the bed! Can't wait to see your plans!

  22. I always love you creative ways. Well done and the mug suggests you may be right handed.
Our place has lots to be sent off. We hope to finally move in October, three years after our original plan. YK daughter Ed moved back with family and is in our home with us since Jan.29. So we are enjoying a bit of time together. Before that Covid nade our move too scary. We did not want Packer/mover around us. Let us hope we get going now. Kids bough their own place and now life is more settled. No more UK flights to visit them. Really glad as air travel is now a hSSLE.
