I rushed to the window when I heard the trash truck, the one with the big CLAW that picks up limbs and trees. the pile of limbs had been there since the Big Guy trimmed the tree. I went to watch the truck, because I love to see how he handles it.
For the first time ever, the driver walked to the back of the truck with an IPAD just like mine and took two photos of the trash, put it back in the truck and I watched him control the claw.

ReplyDeleteYou are so much fun! I love this! Love seeing the flashing gif of all the activity outside your window! We have similar traffic outside our front window all day too. We mostly keep those window blinds shut, mostly because of the bright sun for most of the morning/noon hours, but also because we don't want the neighbors watching US! LOL. We enjoy our back window view to the pond, where there is also a lot of activity of a different kind to enjoy...and no people! LOL. However, we can see/hear traffic through the trees on the other side of the pond where there is a 4 lane highway. Amazing how noisy cars/trucks/sirens can be. Thank goodness for AC, so we can keep our windows shut and help filter out some of the noise. I enjoyed your pictures. Glad the brush got picked up!! Such fun to see how equipment works, especially when the operator knows what he's doing! LOL.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things when I was a child was putting a quarter in a big glass box and using a joy stick to operate a claw that would pick up a toy or stuffed animal. They were usually situated at the front of a restaurant, probably so the adults could eat in peace. I wasn't very good; that's probably why I'd come home empty-handed.
Now I'm wondering if your real claw operator used to do play that game.
We are wondering why he took a photo of the trees? Here we have to bundle any branches into small batches no longer than 3 feet and they HAVE to be secured tied. Big stuff calls for a special pickup at an extra cost.
ReplyDeleteOne of the boys across the street from us is fascinated with the trash trucks. He is on the spectrum and is the sweetest kid. He is 17. He waits for the trucks as soon as he hears them in the neighborhood. He talks to the driver and waves to him as he leaves. He keeps watching for as long as he can see him on the street. He also leaves him gift and cards for all the big holidays. You can see them packages on top of the cans. It is so fun to watch him. We are watchers too:)
