On The Way to the Dentist

My friend, Diane had oral surgery, last week and I was her desinated driver, since she would be woozy.
this is what I found in her yard, while walking her dog when we got back from the dentist.

  1. I'd love to grow a magnolia tree here. Those blossoms are incredible. Probably not enough humidity here.

  5. Hi Sandra, Great pictures of the Magnolia blossoms. I love Magnolias and love to smell them.. I used to take a blossom to my office (when I lived in Texas and worked there) --and the office would smell so good all day!!!!

    Thanks for sharing.

  9. In Mississippi you can set your calendar by when the magnolia bloom... first week in May.

As for our storm... yes, I did... it was so red and sticky but I couldn't find any dead bird so... well, I did.

My 83 year old dad with a compression fracture in his lumbar vertebrae said he was going to go out and use the chain saw... and I said... NO WAY! He wanted me to use the chain saw... I said, NO WAY... I would probably cut my leg off and then who would drive me to the hospital? Our yard guy said he would help... as soon as he gets the tree top out of his yard.

Oh, the blog this button on Picasa quit working last night too. I think Google owns all of them so when something messes up it just compounds.

    Yard guy is here!

  11. I have pictures of this flower, but wasn't for sure it's a magnolia, now I know! Don't know what you've done, but you are now the new Georgia O'Keeffe!! Amazing art. LOVING the lizards and the babies!! Love the red throat art!!! I want one for a pet, do they get in the house?? Are they harmful? Send me a box of them after I heal, with care instructions. Your photos have shot through the ROOF while I was gone!!!!

  13. Southern magnolias are so beautiful, I love your macros Sandra.

I didn't realize there were different types of magnolias until we move here. This area has Star Magnolias which are gorgeous but they don't have that same wonderful scent that the southern ones do.

  18. Absolutely beautiful. The first pic in particular is great. It's nice how the white Magnolias stand out from all the green. Anyway, good luck being the designated driver. It does get pretty woozy for a person after going to the dentist, so having someone there helps!
