Junk Jewelry Macro

In searching for fodder to practice manual focus I pulled out by box of fake jewelery. the center piece of the first 3 photos, is a necklace by Avon that  my Aunt gave me 40 years ago. the background is my grandmothers plate.

Above and below are tiny lapel pins,  Y-Shua is Hebrew for Jesus....
I used this little 10 X, $10.00 lens, thanks to Tammy from Simple Southern Happiness, for telling me about the lens. I must say it is very difficult to use, but I did manage a few shots. It only works as a magnifying glass, but is fun to play with. Someday I might get a perfect photo with it.

  2. I hadn't heard about this lens -- I'll have to look into it. I think your photos are just great. Are you sure you want to get a perfect photo? After getting it, everything afterward may be a letdown. Fortunately I'll never have to worry about that.

  10. very cool shots. I have one of those macro lenses but mine doesn't magnify quite that much. It was cheap and kind of fun to play with though

  11. I have read about those little lenses and was wondering how they did. Your shots look great so they must do pretty well. That necklace is really pretty.
