Manatee Village-Train

Above is the General Store at Manatee Village. A blogger friend asked me to take photos of this old train for her series on old engines.
Click on Mama Bug to get info on this old train and the rest of her series

In my quest I found a Gecko that lives on the General Store Porch Railing
Climbing up the side of the General Store.... we grow them BIG in Florida

Ginny of Let Your Light Shine and I both love the Geico Gecko, so this post is for YOU Ginny

  1. Goodness, that is one big gecko. The general store shouldn't have any problems with flies.

The old train is really cool. Any time hubby and I see trains in our travels we have to check them out.

  3. Well, I don't know why I got signed in with my old name! Maybe it has to do with commenting on my iPad? Anyway, it is Ginny, of course! I used to use this name before I had a blog!

  4. Hum, thought I left my comment?
I like small towns and quaint shops.

That is one massive train and they have kept it in perfect condition.

  10. I love our historical park. The old home emeinds me so much of my grandparents' home, though theirs was not so fine. My grnadpa had a sugar cane mill and the big vat.

When I was a little girl, my parents knew someone who lived upstairs in the Wiggins building, and we often went there to visit.

  12. That building looks very "Southern" :) Impressive locomotive (and good pictures of it), I took a peek at your friend's blog. My dad was crazy about old railways and engines, I can't see one without thinking of him. Before I moved away from home I had travelled more by steam engines than on modern trains because we always visited lots of museum railways on our family holidays (in Sweden and Britain).
