I AM A LOT BETTER, BUT NOT 100 PERCENT.. I have not touched my camera for 9 days.. BUT i had 11 post in my drafts. so here you go. I may be on and off a few days... MISSED all of YOU...thanks for all the emails and comments.... they kept me going.
I have tracked this bright yellow butterfly for months, and never found him sitting down. They are brilliant yellow in the air, and when he lit on the green flower, turned almost the same as the leaves.
My research says, they change color with the seasons, from light to bright or dark. Their spots change with the seasons also
They love nectar and wild flowers and mud puddles.
They are very common, and if you live anywhere in the gold below, they are where you are.

Good to hear that you are improving. Hope you'll be 100% soon. I can only imagine how debilitating vertigo can be!

ReplyDeleteWishing you full recovery. REST until it feels fully fine to return to blogging.
Ahemmm, during this time, would Bob be emeanible (spelling???) to learning how to update your blog, just so he could tell us updates, if you got sick and "disappeared" again?
As you know, it's awful to not know about a blogging friend... When they kind of disappear...
Just a thought. :-)
Gentle hugs,
"Auntie"

ReplyDeletePretty little thing - that cabbage butterfly.
I thought the butterfly was a leaf with spots on the first picture. We have the white cabbage butterfly here. They follow us on our walks, it's quite amazing. I am so glad you are feeling a bit better.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're feeling somewhat better and I hope you get back to 100% very very soon. Beautiful shots of this butterfly
ReplyDeleteGood to see this post!!!!!!

Hopefully you will be 100% better soon.
Looking forward to your post and share to us that you have completely recuperated. :)
ReplyDeleteThe clouded sulphur looks like the plant. It camouflages so well and it's sometimes hard to differentiate it from the other. Interesting!
My goodness, they're everywhere! Get well soon! Glad to see you're back at least part-time!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI really missed you and your wonderful posts.
Love the butterfly photos and I see this delicate little flitterby often. I didn't know that they change color.
Continue to feel better.
Praying
Sue
Glad you're feeling a little better. The butterfly reminds a little of the European Common Brimstone which is also bright yellow on top but with the wings closed sitting still it becomes almost invisible.
ReplyDeleteHmmm so they are here in my area I would track this tiny pretty one too.
ReplyDeleteKim,USA
I love the Yellow butterflys.
ReplyDeleteThey are hard to capture, and they almost never lite with open wings.
Glad you are better! Didn't know butterflies lived that long...interesting!

I've been praying hard for you today. Good to see you are feeling some better. Been worried about you and Ginny! Beautiful butterfly. I've only seen two this year... butterflies - not this particular kind. Chat soon!
ReplyDeleteI was so sorry to learn that you have not been well, take care and I hope you feel much better very soon. Your patience certainly paid off with the butterfly, great photos.
ReplyDeleteSandra, so glad you aree feeling better. Please do continue to rest and we will all be rooting for you to get back to 100 percent. It seems you are on the way...YEAH !
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are feeling a bit better but hopefully you will soon be back to 100%! I am thinking you are having withdrawals from being away from your camera! LOL!
ReplyDeleteBig warm hugs for you!
xo Catherine
I've never noticed one before, but I can see why! Glad you are feeling a bit better!
ReplyDeleteI will have to watch for one. They camouflage nicely.
ReplyDeleteHe is a pretty one. I like the different colors in each of your shots. I have been seeing them here but the last time I got close one of my cats decided it needed to be chased just as it landed. Off they both went and I had no photo.
ReplyDeleteYou have a very good eye Sandra! I don't know that I have ever seen one before but perhaps if I looked closer I might see one!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get better soon! I'm getting last minute things ready for my kids first day of school Thursday.
Sadly I see very few butterflies. Seems they are always out of my visual range.
ReplyDeleteThe one in your post is so delicate looking.
I thought he was a flower at first. Loved this post resulting from your superb skills at tracking the wilflife on the MadSnapper homestead!
