Clouded Sulphur (Colias philodice)

I AM A LOT BETTER, BUT NOT 100 PERCENT..  I have not touched my camera for 9 days.. BUT i had 11 post in my drafts. so here you go. I may be on and off a few days... MISSED all of YOU...thanks for all the emails and comments.... they kept me going.

I have tracked this bright yellow butterfly for months, and never found him sitting down. They are brilliant yellow in the air, and when he lit on the green flower, turned almost the same as the leaves.
My research says, they change color with the seasons, from light to bright or dark. Their spots change with the seasons also

They love nectar and wild flowers and mud puddles.

They are very common, and if you live anywhere in the gold below, they are where you are.

  4. Lovely photos as always...

Wishing you full recovery. REST until it feels fully fine to return to blogging.

Ahemmm, during this time, would Bob be emeanible (spelling???) to learning how to update your blog, just so he could tell us updates, if you got sick and "disappeared" again?

As you know, it's awful to not know about a blogging friend... When they kind of disappear...

    Just a thought. :-)

    Gentle hugs,

  15. I thought the butterfly was a leaf with spots on the first picture. We have the white cabbage butterfly here. They follow us on our walks, it's quite amazing. I am so glad you are feeling a bit better.

  18. Looking forward to your post and share to us that you have completely recuperated. :)

The clouded sulphur looks like the plant. It camouflages so well and it's sometimes hard to differentiate it from the other. Interesting!

  21. Glad you're feeling a little better. The butterfly reminds a little of the European Common Brimstone which is also bright yellow on top but with the wings closed sitting still it becomes almost invisible.

  38. He is a pretty one. I like the different colors in each of your shots. I have been seeing them here but the last time I got close one of my cats decided it needed to be chased just as it landed. Off they both went and I had no photo.
