Above is My Stash for you know what, this might jog your memory as to what I save the pine cones for. If photo doesn't jog it Click Here.
Above is how they look when I pick them up, closed tight. Below is what they do in a couple of days
Below is fully open. I had about 25 opened ones, I said to Bob, what did you do with my pine cones? He said I did not touch the pine cones. Well, half of them are MIA... so where are they???
the answer below.... the little devils carry them off, sit in the tree, chew until they get the seed out, and drop those sharp pointy thingy's on the ground for my bare feet to find.
(yes, MadSnapper has lost her bloggin mojo and am forced to do yada yada blah blah)

I liked this. And that cute little furry guy. I wish we had them here. But cactus is not on their appetite list, I suppose.

Ha! Squirrels do enjoy the seeds! I wonder what my husband would say if I collected a little stash of pine cones to burn. I bet the aroma is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteJust think of the pleasure those little squirrels are getting from your pine cones! :-)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if our mojos are having a good time together. Mine seems to be missing too. Maybe it's the time of year.
I bet the squirrel is happy! Beth loses her mojo sometimes too....

ReplyDeleteThose peaky squirrels.Hope you are enjoying a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteNo! Your mojo's still working. I had forgotten your pine cone fireplace and enjoyed the refresher. Burning pine cones is entertainment for me, both in our fireplace at home and in a campfire when we are camping.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder Hubby calls me a "cheap date."
Welcome to the club....
ReplyDeleteSometimes the MOJO is hard to find that's for sure.
Love your shots anyway and the personality that comes through.

ReplyDeleteI kept finding little pieces on pine cone on the living room floor and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Finally figured out Duke was taking them out of the basket I have them in and chewing on them
Girl I can't quit laughing! I had a bucket full on the porch and those darn tree rats stole mine too!
ReplyDeleteHey, a squirrel has to make a living too and those pine nuts are tasty. He is a little cutie. I should gather a few out of our yard before I start raking and putting them in the debris can.
ReplyDeleteHi There, Doesn't look like you have lost your blog-jo!!!! This is a cute post... SO--the stinkin' Squirrels are the ones who have taken your pine cones..... You need to turn them over your knee and spank them GOOD... Bad Squirrels...

ReplyDeleteI remember your pine cones and what you used them for... Surely you cannot stay angry at that cute squirrel, though! I did not know what MIA stood for, had to look it up. We all have days feeling like that, no panic.
ReplyDeleteThose squirrels can be a bit pesky.
ReplyDeleteSo the squirrels are taking your pine cones - why those dirty little thieves. I have two sets of families in my attic now - I hate those little critters! lol sandie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo of the squirrel!
ReplyDeleteLove pine scent...I still have a few cones left in our stash. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteWhy did Bob have a pot for melting lead? Roger has one, not has two that are electric, but he also had a pot he melted it in and made ingots. He made his own bullets and also sinkers for fishing. I wondered if Bob had it for fishing or for something with his model airplanes. (I am so tired I first spelled airplanes as airplains...)
