Judy, A.K.A. Squirrel Queen, asked if I ever took black and white with the camera, the answer was no, i don't know if the Rebel will take black and white.... Well, yes it does.... I tried the jungle shot first
then I aimed the camera at the Jungle Keeper and got a scowl (the spots on the shirt are from throwing chlorine into the pool when the wind was blowing in his face)
(yes, I could have removed said spots, but why bother)
a Stop now scowl...
and as I begged for a small smile, this was as good as it got.....he Almost Smiled
Woof! Woof! making me miss my apple bananas. Golden Hello to Santa. Mom does not like taking directly black n white photos in her camera. She likes to convert it in iphoto or photoshop. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteI always find black and white a great effect on pictures of people. You did a great job on these ones.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Sunday! I finally got myself in gear to start working on the commissioned work, yesterday was just a quiet day, didn't have much energy to do much.
These turned out great.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to see... I love black and white images and don't do enough.
ReplyDeleteHubby makes a great subject with his hair and beard... there's so much character in his face.
Love the black and white images.
ReplyDeleteThe black and white has a great effect. I prefer to change the pictures to B+W on the computer.
ReplyDeleteI really like that last shot. There is a lot of character there, but I am sure you know that.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Almost is better than nothing.
ReplyDeleteHubby curses me if I take pictures with him knowing cause he knows they're going on the blog.
I like the black and white.
Whether you shoot in Color or black and white your pica are always great Sandra. Wonderful to see the serious side of Bob in b n w.
ReplyDeleteBob looks great whether it is color or black and white. these today are really good.
ReplyDeleteSusannah
just love bob hemingway!
ReplyDeleteI agree! Do not remove pool acid spots! They are like "badges of honor," for those who take care of pools!
ReplyDeleteExcept!
When he gets 'em on a shirt, I really liked!!!!
Then it's; "HOW COULD YOU?" time. -grin-
Calling by your blog and reading this post, cheered me and made me smile today. Sorry I have not been participating here much recently but know you understand why.
ReplyDeleteAwesome black and whites. I love B&W of people. Your Bob lended himself well to this.
ReplyDeleteThe hair colour in your shots comes across so stunningly. Nice model! hehe
ReplyDeleteMOL the jungle keeper!!!!
ReplyDeleteAt least you got him to look at the camera my B always says I don't want to be in the picture. you see a lot of his hands.
Hugs C
love the black and white...perfect look for your model. and he was SO co-operative! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe went for professional family photos a couple weeks ago ~ my husband had a hard time smiling then too ~ what's with men and smiling? Great post!
ReplyDeleteYour new header is gorgeous!!! These black and whites are great! I can see the start of Bob's smile in the last photo. :) He has nice hair. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the b&w of Bob...it gives it a unique look. Don't think it would be as strong of a picture in color. PERFECT!!
ReplyDeleteThese are terrific! I think that black and white pics are refreshing now and then. You did a great job with them.
ReplyDeleteWell yes, he is looking VERY good in the last picture! Why does he say he does not like his picture taken???
ReplyDeleteMen.... ;)
ReplyDeleteLove black and white photos. They are always a classic!
xo Catherine
Wow, your Bob sure is looking good in black and white. What a great subject for practicing black and white photography. Great work!
ReplyDeleteI think black and white changes the look of a picture sometimes for better and sometimes for the worse. I don't think I would look good in black and white - but maybe. I liked Bob's smile! sandie
ReplyDeleteI would prefer the scowl and half smile to what I normally get from Wade when I try and take his picture.
ReplyDeleteI never take my pictures in black and white, I always do the conversion in photoshop
I think black and white makes a big statement and puts a mood to photo's. Do you find using the black and white on your camera to be different from the black and white editing?
ReplyDeletelol...Hubby gives me the same looks...even Hotrod knows how to do the Pawpaw look...love the black and white photos...
ReplyDeleteI would have to say that your camera takes very good black and white photos. (Perhaps the photographer has something to do with that!) I like the last picture of Bob with the hint of a smile.
ReplyDeleteI've never been much when it comes to B&W... Guess I'm just a color-lover... BUT--your first photo is really really good... Love it.
ReplyDeleteAND--of course, we all love your Jungle Man...
Hugs,
Betsy
You found the perfect subject for the B/W photos with the Jungle Keeper. Bob is like my guy when it comes to cameras, the smiles are hard to get. Just my personal opinion but I think there is a slightly different look to B/W photos taken in the camera as opposed to post processing.
ReplyDeleteYiu found a great, even if unsmiling, photo subject in Bob who looks great in B&W.
ReplyDeleteFun that the Jungle Keeper was so accommodating! Well, almost. NIce shots! Stay cool.
ReplyDeletethe photos of bob are stunning!
ReplyDeleteyou did great taking them on monochrome.
well done!
p.s. love your new header spring photo.
I had to laugh...at the t-shirt with spots. Roger cannot keep a t-shirt unstained/unspotted. Just impossible to not get glue, oil, something on them.
ReplyDeleteWell the black and white look nice.
ReplyDeleteWell going to the not black and white pictures.
Your man has sure looked after himself and he looks like you say. Great for his age. He is blessed that he can move about still for his age. With all the likes he can participate in.
Not many men can health wise.
Well you got a keeper for sure.
He is a nice show and tell when you go out with him but aye,aye .
Who has him line and sinker.
You girly! Your made for each other.
Happy Anniversary to you both.
Havea wonderful Day!
