Powel Crosley Estate

Seagate on Sarasota Bay
11,000 sq feet, 21 rooms and 10 bathrooms, with adjacent carriage house with room for 3 cars and servants quarters on the second floor, Seagate is the home of Powel and Gwendolyn Crosley built in1929.

Placed on the National Register of Historic Place in 1982 and purchased for renovation by our county, which operates it as a meeting, conference and event venue.  Last year there were more than 150 weddings here and it is leased for parties and events for up to 400 people.

Rarely open to the public, it was open by reservation only on  each Wed. in the month of March in celebration of  our Historical Events each year.

I will tell you more about Powel Crosley the inventor in another post.
