Raccoon-amania...

Out of the camera, way to dark

At 5:30 AM Sunday morning, the dogs went tearing to the door. Alert! Alert!
I went to the open window and heard loud chittering noises.

I did not let the dogs out.

At 7 Am which is ball game time for Jake, we let them out and they went straight to the bottom of our big pine tree...

cropped to show their faces

two raccoon, sitting in a tree,
both their eyes staring at me.
Look Bob a raccoon and her baby
Oh no, not a baby, they are making babies.

 YES! MS shouted they are!
I hope they are not to far..
I hope they stay,
While I am away

MS sprinted for the table
and was very able
to change the lens before they were gone

OK so the last one doesn't rhyme. they were there
from 6 am to 8 am.

photos today taken 7 am - tomorrow will be at photos from 8 am.

  13. I didn't realize the Mad Snapper was such a Peeping Tom. But you obviously didn't interrupt the raccoons.

  14. These pictures are so cute! And I never thought I would use the word cute to describe sex on a blog comment! But just as good is the way you write and your text. You write in a way that cheers me up and makes me happy. I can always picture all your adventures in my head.

  15. I agree, better in the trees than in your attic or walls.
It will be interesting to see what "develops" from these terrific photos.
You are quite the photographer, Sandra.

  24. I've had insect porn on my blog a couple of times but so far I haven't caught a mammal in the act. Of course there was a lot of noise on our roof the other night and now you have me wondering ...

Cute shots, can't wait to see what you have for tomorrow.

  25. Oh my gosh you got them up close and personal! Those were pretty!!!

  26. How funny... Well, guess those raccoons didn't think so --while they were busy doing 'the' thing!!!!!! You may be the first person ever to photograph a couple of raccoons making babies!!!! Send the photographs to National Geographic --or some nature magazine....

Well--that is exciting, but I also keep thinking of the BAD news... Two raccoons can make SEVERAL more...Do you want that many raccoons around your house--upsetting the dogs and making a mess???? Hmmmmm---maybe they'll move on!!!! Personally, I don't like them around here --but luckily, they only come around at nights.. BUT--we can't leave out any of the bird feeders at nights....

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  31. That was an amazing post - what photographs! Did the babies live in your yard or did they decide to move to a place with no Mad Snapper so they could raise their babies in privacy? LOL!
