  4. I wish I could adopt a shelter pet but I just don't think Gibbs would react well to another animal in the house

Oh, I wish I could adopt a real live dog again... but my circumstances are all against it. But that is why Love that one can help in other ways - such as clearing out old towels and blankets to drop off at the shelter! YAM xx

  8. More than one of our pets was a rescue. One was snatched from Death's Door by my father-in-law at the last possible moment. "Joey" was so glad to see him that he just about knocked him down. Joey came to live with us and was "the best dog ever", amongst others.

  9. It has always been rescues for us or taking in strays, but I consider that a rescue too!

  10. If we ever get another dog, it will definitely be a rescue. I hope this initiative is so successful, they run out of available pets!

  11. Happy to read that so many of your commenters have rescue pets.
That's the only way to go.
Your sweet Beau looks so proud to be a part of your family.

  12. We have never spent to buy a cat or dog...and we probably never will. Onecofvourcfigs cane from a shelter. Another was a neighbor's but adopted us...and would growl and mean it when that neighbor came about. Cats have came from here and there.

  16. What a nice post! We've had lots of dogs and cats in our 35 years of marriage and some of them were rescue and or shelter dogs. we are currently down to two cats and three horses. I'm kinda ready to be pet free with the exception of the horses so I don't think we'll be having any more dogs.....Luckily I have lots of granddogs though. I love them there is no doubt and have dogs my whole life but it's so hard to find people to take care of them when we are gone.

  17. We sure wish we had a Petsmart around here. We do a clean up around the house and donate all food we don't use, blankets and towels and bring them to our local shelter.

  18. All our dogs were from shelters or rescues. I donate to them these days.
