As part of my exercise program, anywhere I go, I park as far away from the door I will use and that makes me walk more. The shopping center here, has 5 stores, Dollar Tree and Publix, the two I visit most. See that bike? it is in my parking spot. there is never anyone in it, because I go early.
Publix is at the other end of the shopping center; it is a long walk there and back and again to return the basket.
Do you park in the same spot each time you shop or visit somewhere? I do it at all places I visit. It also helps to find your car if you have that issue
These were taken in Parking lot of My eye doctor, we were waiting for it to open at 9, and
when I took these four, bob said, what are you taking a picture of. When I showed him the photos he said I did not see those reflections until you showed me the picture and now, I see them.
The 2 above, are the last two I took. 2 below, are the first two. Notice how much difference there is them.
Below I got the dashboard of the car and just aimed and clicked and above I LOOKED at what i could see and moved the cell phone to get the top of the tree and no dashboard,
poked the screen and adjusted the f-stop with sliding finger.
Above are sharper and clear and more pleasing to the eye. there are many video on youtube on how to use a cell phone like it is a dslr camera
to be continued
The first two are a lot better, with more of the mini palm reflections showing. Didn't you say you were not supposed to lose any more weight, or did I just imagine it?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to look up how to use my iPhone camera more effectively. Thank you! I try to park at mostly the same spot so I don't have to go looking for the car. I also park way from the door so I walk more.
ReplyDeleteHubby parks in the same general area most of the time, I don't, but I do park so that I do have to get in some walking. Wow, those are great pics you made. I too need to get a bit more familiar with all that my phone camera can do.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the same parking lot, but mostly I see a car there... sadly to wait is no option its always the one who probably sleeps in my beloved junkstore hahaha
ReplyDeleteThese days I'm not sure whether I need extra exercise but it is a sensible thing to do to find a park on the fringes - there are usually plenty and not so much manoeuvring to squeeze into and get out of. I did used to park right outside the supermarket checkout desks in Ashburton so that Fergus could see me at the checkouts and know I was coming back. Everyone could see his wee ears sticking up above the dashboard and his intense stare when he realized he could see me.

ReplyDeleteYes, our phones are no longer just for making calls, eh?! BTW, I love the new header iteration! YAM xx
Good morning,
ReplyDeleteI usually park in the same area if I can not get the same space. I park a little further from the door so I can walk more too.
I love all the palms and the reflections, great photos from your phone. Take care, have a great day!
The angle how you hold your phone can make a huge difference when it comes to taking photos.
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I don't park at all - but walk quite a lot!
Yes, we usually try to park in the same general area when we go to Walmart and/or the Publix plaza, where we also have a Dollar Tree and a Bealls Outlet. We're not a big enough area to get a real Bealls! LOL. Anyway, on the few times that we don't park in the same general area, we usually get lost and can't find our car, especially at Walmart. We always go in the same door and out the same door, but one time recently hubby let me off at the door nearest the beauty salon (and we are going there this morning again), and he parked somewhere out there. We did our grocery shopping after the haircuts and went out our usual door with our grocery carts looking for the car in our normal place, and it was NOWHERE to be seen. Then hubby remembered he had parked it several lanes over nearer the door where the salon is. We looked like a couple of lost souls going up and down the lanes looking for our car with our full grocery cart. Someone even offered to drive us around to find it! LOL. I was never so happy to find that car! We sure got our exercise that day! Oh, I do love your photos of the trees/reflections/etc. Very nicely done!! You are a photographer extroidinaire! (spelling?) See ya later alligator! After while crocodile.
ReplyDeleteIt takes a photographer to pint out the differences and the reasons.
ReplyDeleteI park as close as I can so that I don't have to walk too far. Maybe that will change now,
*point*
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. You have a good eye for this. I tend to park in the same section of the parking lot, but I don’t look for the same spot. The distance from the door depends on the weather. On a fine day I will park as far away as possible, but if it’s minus 20 degrees and the wind is blowing, closer is better.
ReplyDeleteI tend to go to the same general area when I park but not necessarily the same spot.
ReplyDeleteOf the last 4 the first two do look much better.
I certainly do need the exercise, which means I need to park a little further out. In our area, if you find a parking spot, you better take it. I always try to park near a buggy drop off spot. Makes it easy for when I load my car and I can just push the buggy a short distance to drop it off...
ReplyDeleteI usually do park in about the same spot. Good idea to park at a distance and get some walking in.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your photography lessons!
I always park in the same area when I go shopping. Usually, it's close to a cart return so I don't have to wander too far to return the cart.
ReplyDeleteDANG as much as you spend at the stores you deserve your very on marked spot. I usually park on the same row when I shop sometimes a different spot depending on weather.

If Tom's along, I've little recourse but to find a handicapped spot, or drop him at the door. Given my druthers, however, I'll park a goodly distance from the door to get my steps. Bonus points if it's a pull-through slot AND beside the cart corral. A few years ago my friend passed that tip: if a woman's by herself, it's wise to align her passenger-side door(s) with the cart corral -- preventing anyone trying to get in and abduct/car jack.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your new header!
I hate to admit it - you put me to shame - that is so awesome how you walk. I have a hard time walking and I park in the closest place I can - hopefully handicap.
ReplyDeleteImpressive what you see - a real artist.
I'm a wimp and my arthritic feet and ankles encourage me to park close and I have a handicap tag. Plus if I have LD with me, it's easier to park close as we are both unsteady on our feet these days. And sometimes he sits in the car and waits for me.
ReplyDeleteI do get my steps in everyday by all the walking I do here at home. I had no idea I walked 2-4 miles until I started carrying my phone in an apron pocket! We are off to the ranch and I am so excited!
Lately, I have been using my camera more like a DSLR and only pull out the Nikon for nature or nature landscape shots.
ReplyDeleteHaven't been by in awhile so I thought I'd pop in and say hello. I like the pictures best without the dashboard. I generally park in different spots because sometimes it's hard to get the exact same spot (especially at a grocery store which is where I go the most often.)
ReplyDeleteMom looks to park generally in the same area all the time, but more importantly she tries to find a spot that she can pull through to be facing out. She would rather not have to back up in a parking lot - too many crazy drivers out there.

Aha! I might not have even noticed the difference if you hadn't pointed it out.
ReplyDeleteIn the first picture, at first I thought the red sign read, balls. lololol. Oh my goodness, I was like, what store is she at????
ReplyDeleteParking depends. If nice, I will park away. If breezy and cold, I tend to park closer. At Aldi, I do the same spot each time, for the most part. Only at night do I park differently at Aldi. Though I don't often go at night. Sometimes.
We both used to park as far away as possible but these days that leave us open to getting mugged up here so we're back to parking close again. It's sad.
ReplyDeleteLove how you turn parking into extra steps! And those reflections—funny how we miss things until we see them in a photo. Cool shots! 📸
ReplyDeleteI like to park where it is both close to shopping trolleys and the door to the store!
ReplyDeleteI'm like Bob, I did not notice the reflections until you pointed them out. I don't have preferred spots. Where I shop, the centers and their parking are much smaller than they are in the US. Most of my shopping these days is in our teenie tiny village and when I get to McMynns (the grocery store) there are usually never more than 5 cars (or trucks, about 75% of the locals drive pickup trucks). What I love is that I know almost everyone and it makes shopping so much fun! Keep being awesome! Barb
ReplyDeleteI can see you had great fun and enjoyed your photos and explanations of each one. Thanks for the reminder about all the youtube videos online. I'm going to look some of those up. I also like the architecture of the building and those curved windows.
ReplyDeleteYes I park in the same spot if it is a place I go often. I have for a very long time. Love those reflections.
ReplyDeleteSheesh, I thought I answered this yesterday.. what happened I don't know...
ReplyDeleteI love your views from the car and the reflections.. Great observations and maybe Bob will want to photograph some of those things too...haha...NOT
Sue
Right now, because of my ankle I don't park as far away as I used to. Yes, I notice there is a difference between the shots.
ReplyDeleteWhile I do not usually park in the same spot when shopping, it will always be in one that requires more walking. My husband will usually park in a closer one. yes, I also saw the difference in the two images.
