Whatever you are thinking now, just remember I have Cusining Disease and can't stop eating! NOW A WORD FROM DA MAMA! HA HA HA HAHAHA Can she say a Word? Mama's Current Mood |
Bobs latest update on Infusion Meds.
All Calls are completed, Plans are made, I spoke to two RN's, in two days. The dates for the first two are July 7 and 8. The first one will take from 5 to 9 hours, depending on how he does with the drug.
The first RN called to explain what will happen and ask a zillion questions, and one of those questions was, Do you have pets in the house, YES, a dog, What type of dog, A Big one. There were other minor questions, about Bob, his health, etc. She asked if our home is safe, do we have power, water, is the neighborhood safe, on and on. I hung up and was stuck on The Dog Question. I went into WHAT IF mode
A whole day with a stranger? Will I like the RN? Will she love Beau? Will she want me to lock him in the bedroom? he has Only Once in 5 years been shut away and that was when the EMT's came to pick Bob up for the ER. I shut my mind down by placing it in God's hands by praying and asking him to send an RN that loved dogs and got a good night's sleep.,
Kristy, RN called on Thursday to tell me the time would be 9:30 and it could last for hours and she started her questions, about Bob's abilities to move, personal questions and I felt like I was talking to a good friend. At the end in closing she said, I see you have a dog. What kind is he? I love dogs! no kidding she said I LOVE DOGS.
I said he is a big dog, 80 lbs and is Dane/catahoula. She said I have boxers. She said when they were looking for a dog, she wanted a Velcro dog. A patient had 3 boxers in their home 3 boxers, and they were Velcro dogs. She said we went out and got our own Velcro dogs. (this means to me, she is used to big, leaning on you dogs that drool a lot) Beau is safe
I said you will love Beau, he is a big Velcro dog. We chatted like old friends and she said, are you going out of town for the holiday? I said, on no, Bob has not walked in 3 months and I even order everything delivered. She said since it will be all day you can go shopping or out with a friend while I am there if you would like to.
With those words, I knew I had another Angel headed to our house to do the infusion and God is in control. No, I will not go out, Bob would be lost without me here and with a stranger in the house.
I got slightly choked up reading that. What a great person she is to ne working in health care and come into your home with so much cheer and assurance. I hope Beau likes HER.
ReplyDeleteThe story of all of the angels surrounding you and Bob continues!
ReplyDeleteI need clones of your nurse to work with at my workplace, LOL!

ReplyDeleteBeau boy, I just KNOW that the nurse who is visiting your place soon is going to be head over heels in love with you by the time she's done with dad! I love that it lifts your mum's spirits so much... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Must be a relief to know plans have been made, the date decided, and that you'll even be getting help from a dog-loving nurse. ♥
ReplyDeleteYour visiting nurse sounds just perfect. What a relief to have so many of your worries allayed. Not long to wait now.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI am sure Beau and the nurse will love each other.
So happy you are feeling happy, it is nice knowing there are angels around you. Take care, have a great day!
My current mood is just like yours right now because all of this makes me so happy. I'm glad that things are working out so well for you.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful news...another Angel on her way!!
ReplyDeleteOh Sandra - I'm crying reading this. Another blessing from God!
ReplyDeletePS for Beau - your nieces and nephews are cute!
This is your best news all year, combined with even HAVING the infusions! and I know you cannot wait! I guess it takes dire straits to find angels these days.
ReplyDeleteWhat precious kitties....I hope they are filling Daniel and Michelle's hearts with joy after they passing of their dog.
ReplyDeleteBeau I'm thinking there is more to love
Hugs Cecilia
I am so happy that things are falling into place for you and Bob.. I certainly know this has to be a relief for you . It is always a bonus when you have nice, caring people taking care of your needs. Hi Beau!! hope you are having a lazy day
ReplyDeleteI will say again, I am so happy you got such a great RN....who could not love Beau, anyway?
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful! You have another angel heading your way and I bet Bob and Beau will love her.
ReplyDeleteShe's walking on sunshine, oh yaaaa ... and don't it feel good! I'm so delighted to realize these blessings are falling in place. I've no doubt Beau's going to love her, too. Maybe even Bob -- provided she flirts with him. (haha)
ReplyDeleteThose kitties are so sweet looking. We know the nurse will just love Beau. All paws are crossed that everything goes well on infusion day.
ReplyDeleteWOW, she sounds like a nice person and she will totally love Beau!
ReplyDeleteBest NEWS ever! I gotta tell you, when I could not do anything and the Public Health People stopped by 3 times a week to check up on me, they ALL LOVED Nutmeg! ANd she loved them! I think Pople who like people like pets too! And Sandra, I would like to use a photo of Beau for the International Dog Day badge (it is August 26), Can I use one from your blogs? Oh yes, I am glad you can have bananas! Keep being awesome! Hugz Barb
ReplyDeleteLove those sweet feral kitties, Beau! One of them looks a lot like our Sunshine! He is a "porch kitty", which means he lives on the porch, but he is a sweet big boy. I hope those sweet kitties will find good homes with people who will love them like your Mama and Daddy love you. Oh,Mama, So happy to hear the good news about the infusion nurse, etc....yes, God is sending all the right angels to help you! What an answer to pray!!! Love to you all.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! What an amazing answer to prayer. I will keep praying it works and gives him back his mobility.
ReplyDeleteThose kittens are precious, I am guessing if your brother has a feral colony he knows when and how to trap and get them fixed. People who help the rescues with TNR colonies are the best.
Thank you for linking up with Feline Friday!
I'm so happy for you! What a wonderful woman.
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord for another "angel" to come to the rescue! And she loves dogs. Win-win. That's wonderful. Prayers that the infusions will work and y'all will be comfortable having another person in the house. I only say that because I get kinda shy when I have company. I'm ok everywhere else. Weird how that is or I'm just weird. lol
ReplyDeleteHope the ferals get good, loving homes.
Love. 💖
Before today, I'd not heard the term, velcro dog. That's funny. Pups are funny how they can get. Sounds like you have a nurse that is smart and knows how to relax her client with the right words, questions and love of pups. Most excellent.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know what a Velcro dog was either until I met Beau. I tell you what - I would do that jump with you if I could physically - I can do it in my mind though. I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo happy for the both of you!
ReplyDeleteAnd the positives keep coming. Hope all the infusions go well and help a lot.
