Because of this fat face cartoon on yesterdays post, it reminded me that I totally missed the anniversary post on Jan. 26, 2025. Each year I have done a reminder post of my weight lost that started on January 26, 2017 I gave up sugar, and have had none since then. My first post about weight loss, was Feb 2017.
Each post has a version on my first 60 lbs down
that took 2 years of TOPS

TOPS (take off Pounds sensibly) I joined Feb of 2017 and by end of 2018 had lost 70 lbs, and as have held my goal weight until now, and due to stress of the past year, am down another 12 that I did not need to lose.
this is last years, Feb 2024 Anniversary
I have no idea what happened to 2021,2022,2024, I could not find them on the blog
Now you can't read me, now you can! Using my hands to take photos in my kitchen
June 30, 2025.
I had to change clothes because its so hot here I have to shop in a sleeveless blouse. I was shocked, I say shocked, to see the wrinkles and may or may not show them to you. I was 72 when I gave up sugar, and now in 64 days will be 81, I lost 70 lbs in 2 years and now in 3 months of stress and since I never stop moving lost 12 more.
Don't believe anyone who says you can't lose weight when you are old.
less food, more move
but get ready, the thinner you get the older you look because of Wrinkles
The doctor will not be happy. For the first time in my entire life, I have tried to gain a few pounds. Not yet. the thing about OLD skin losing weight, there is nothing but wrinkled skin draped on bones but my apple middle is still there, but its all skin.

ReplyDeleteYour TOPS days definitely paid off - but yeah, sadly the skin does lose its elasticity. There's always something, eh?! YAM xx
You look FANTASTIC and deserve a huge amount of credit for sticking to your plan. Wrinkled skin comes with age, of course, and that’s just the way it is. Whatever happens to your outer shell will not change your inner beauty, and that’s the most important thing of all. Bravo, Sandra!
ReplyDeleteHello Sandra,
ReplyDeleteYou have done well, loosing the weight and keeping it off.
I wish there was something to do to be rid of wrinkles, I am seeing more too. You are looking good! Take care, have a great day!
You are an inspiration with all the weight you lost. I wish I had your self control. I do good for a while and then I go right back to where I was. Now my weight is up there and i'm even afraid to get on the scale to see how much I've gained.
ReplyDeleteThe wrinkles are inevitable and I hate seeing them on myself. It makes me feel like I have turned into my grandmother.
Well done. You look so well - an inspiration to us all.
ReplyDeleteYou have always been an inspiration to me ith your weight loss...now, please try not to lose any more weight!
ReplyDeleteI've been back at Weight Watchers since April, have cut back on sugar and carbs, I'm exercising daily and am down 15 pounds!
This is a post that is full of encouragement. What a fabulous job you did during those two years and I know you feel so much better...So super proud of you and your accomplishments. Weight loss is difficult but even more difficult is dumping sugar totally...Yay Sandra....
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed! It's a battle not only losing it, but keeping it off. I'm currently fighting that battle. You are an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI neglected to say thanks for your overt support of Canada, too. THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteWhat an accomplishment too Sandra. Stress and strife of your last few months surely caused a loss. Now lets hope you can even out no more weight loss
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
You look great. Way to go. Sugar isn't a friend to our bodies.
ReplyDeleteI linked this post to Happy Tuesday.
Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to Beau and a hug to skinny you. ♥
You look soooo good!
ReplyDeleteI can so relate to what you said about wrinkles and loose skin. Sure, my careless neglect (skin care) in the desert contributed, but 10+ years of yo-yo dieting has left me reluctant to put on anything sleeveless.
PS - You take the best selfies of anyone I know!
I am 74 and lost 18 pounds from January to May on a healthy diet (WW) ! I also noticed that my skin just hangs and looks very old.. Boo hoo..Good for you!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I hope things settle down so you don't lose any more. Love and hugs.
ReplyDeleteYou my dear are looking fabulous ... but don't loose any more. Wrinkles ... man I can't believe the Old Lady Wrinkles I have... I guess I will call them badges of courage and just get used to them. They ain't going away..

I love the dog/kale conversation! Well, you have done the impossible. Which is not only losing the weight, but giving up all sugar and a lot of carbs. I cannot believe your willpower. I have lost 100 pounds twice, and still could not ever do it this way. Hey, did you get my e-mail I sent last night?
ReplyDeleteYou look great 👍🏻 and boy losing weight and keeping it off is not easy: I was on Keto before they had all the keto breads and tortillas at the store. I lost my belly fat and kept it off. But when my son died in 2003, I found comfort in food. You’re right though, eat less and move more.
ReplyDeleteGood for you!
You look fabulous dahling!!! Yes, we all know about wrinkles and flabby skin, especially those biceps that flap in the wind...that's what I have...but to be healthy and wrinkly is just fine! Just keep that smile on your face...those are the best wrinkles to have. We love you and pray for you and know that God is working in you and for you and all around you. So keep that smile going girl!! And don't worry about the wrinkles. It's our badge of honor...we earned them all!!
ReplyDeleteActually you are looking very young and fit for 81. More like 71.
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing!! You look so well and healthy!!
ReplyDeleteStress will do that to you although some people actually gain weight under stress because they eat nonstop. We hope you don't lose any more and stay healthy AND less stressed.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and you DO look marvelous! I went on a diet 2 years ago (when I finally retired at 69) and I lost 60 pounds. When I broke my leg, even though I was getting NO exercise, I lost another 10. That 10 has promptly come back since I started moving around more! I guess I will have to get back to dieting (and stop eating ice cream). Keep being AWESOME! Barb
ReplyDeleteI think you look great. I am proud of you. I think you are beautiful just the way you are. . Wish I could do it.
ReplyDeleteYou do look totally fabulous and we send big hugs your way.
ReplyDeleteYou are beautiful and you've done a wonderful job giving up sugar and keeping your weight goals.
ReplyDeleteOn my blog you said your husband and Carl sound a lot alike in behavior. Carl was deprived of oxygen at birth and while he is whip smart (as smart as his chemist father and NASA rocket scientist brother), he has zero executive functions so he can't use it to organize his life or do things in a really well thought out manner. In that way it really can be like some forms of dementia.
You look amazing. You are amazing. Also I didn't know you were 80. I thought 55. Here's to your upcoming birthday and congrats on getting off sugar and doing things the right way. You are an inspiration. Truly.
