we sat facing this wall at the dermatologist office yesterday, waiting for Bob to have his stitches removed and get the results of the genetic test.
This was the view behind our heads
Bob asked me to let his see his hair, I showed him in the cell camera that it was fine and turned the camera on myself
We got Bob's stitches removed from the cancer he had removed two weeks ago. its healed and doing well. The genetics test she ordered came back positive for;
Muir-Torre syndrome (MTS) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by the combination of specific sebaceous skin tumors and internal visceral cancers (often colorectal). Key symptoms include, but are not limited to, yellowish, slow-growing skin nodules (sebaceous adenomas) or rapidly growing skin growths (keratoacanthomas).
He is positive for Muir-torre Syndrome, she suggested a referral to Onocoligist, for a pet-scan and c-scan, because this new cancer is lethal and can be found in many spots internally, and there is test but the Pet-scan to show what is there. The treatment will be worse than the disease, if they find anything. We made the decision at his age and the other ills he has now, we would not do the test.
We are fine, not fretting over this, and the reason I did not post/read and will be taking a break is not enough time to do it.
This week we have had 3 appointments, 1 PT visit, the mobile mechanic came, will come again when he gets parts, I asked him to roll the heavy generator out to the street and sit beside the heavy fan that Ruby helped me carry out there. He wanted the generator, it is gone. I am cleaning out garage to make room for my new mower, I mowed everything, and tomorrow I got for my 6 months check up with primary.
We are fine just no time to read or create blog post.
I will post as time comes available of if there are any new things to report.
Ruby is walking with us a few times a week and is becoming 2nd mom to Beau.
Please pray for Ruby's husband Keith, they recently found an aneurysm in his head and they are fighting with insurance.
I'm glad Bob is doing well. I think I would make the same decision you did.
ReplyDeleteNice photo of you!
I'm happy you have Ruby in your life. Will pray for Keith.

I too, agree with Mari. I like your new Lawnmistress.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI also ditto what Mari said. Cute photo of you! I am glad you are both are fine.
It is nice of Ruby to help with Beau. Sending prayers for Keith.
I too understand your decision and I hope all goes as well as it can for both Bob and you to cope with the situation as it is. Glad you got help from your new friend with dogwalking etc and I pray that help will continue to turn up when you need it! 💕
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Bob's diagnosis, but I understand and agree with your decision. Just know we are here thinking of all of you often. Glad to hear Ruby is helping out with Beau and the mechanic sounds like a good find too.

I think if this disease has not killed Bob yet, it won't!! He is living a long life with it. You look so good!!! Not haggard or run-down or anything!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great photo of you, and I think you are making the right decision about Bob. I'm so happy you have Ruby and will pray for Keith. Thank you so much for writing when you can. Love always! ❤️
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this photo of you so much!!!
ReplyDeleteAll things considered, I think I'd make the same decision as y'all about further testing.
Like Jean just said, I'm so glad Ruby is there in your life; I'm adding Keith to my prayers.
Love you!
Oh wow, I didn't know about the skin cancers, etc. I've been behind in my reading lately. I'm glad you got Bob to go, and I agree at this age why put him through all that, unless it is something that is really painful? I hope it isn't. I'm glad Ruby came into your lives and Keith too, but I pray he will be okay. And also the other Keith? Anyway, God knew what and who you needed and that's wonderful. You look great, btw. Have a blessed rest of your week. We've been really busy too, and I am trying to get caught up here, but I just can't keep up with everyone. At least we got some rain, but still not that much and we need SO much more. But I am happy for whatever we can get.
ReplyDelete(((HUGS))) to you.
I agree with you and Bob and your decision. Especially if the treatment would be worse than the disease! Prayers
ReplyDeleteLots of prayers for you, Bob, and your neighbors. Keep in touch when you can and you feel you want to.
ReplyDeletewe send biggest hugs to you... and we pray for your bob and for keith... and we are so happy that you found such a good friend who loves the Beau so much...
ReplyDeleteSandra - not the sort of news we wanted to read but glad you shared. Mr B’s Dad made a decision like that. The treatment sounded horrific without guarantee of any quality in the life it might extend. Good progress in the garage - well done. Is Keith's condition new or newly discovered (as in a time bomb he had carried around all his life)?
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the diagnosis. I think I would have made the same decision you did as well.
ReplyDeleteYou are busy. My head was spinning from all the things you've hadon your calendar
Good news about, Bob, Sandra. I can see that the new lawnmower has taken pride of place in your house. Enjoy it to the fullest!
ReplyDeleteGood decisions being made. Take care.
ReplyDeleteOne of the joys of getting old...finding we have predispositions to 'rare and invasive' diseases. lol. Always something, isn't it? Glad Bob is doing ok with healing. Please take care of YOU because YOU have to take care of HIM. Hugs - Diana
ReplyDeleteThinking about all three of you and sending tons of purrs, prayers and hugs.
ReplyDeleteI pray that all this medical stuff won't get you down...and having said that, I am glad you are not going to make Bob's life any less than it already is. Sorry that your very helpful Keith has a big health concern and that the insurance is not playing nicely. It's nice to know that Ruby is loved by Beau, and that she is also very helpful to you right now.
ReplyDeleteGood going with your New Lawn-Mistress helping you with the yard work! Now it's getting a place of honor in your garage. You didn't need the generator anymore? What is the power goes out, say after a hurricane, etc?
Take care, and take time to relax as well! (Even a wee bit of that is helpful)
Hi, Sandra. I'm very sorry about Bob's diagnosis. I believe I would have made the same decision as he and you did. Glad to know, too, that Beau has an additional "Mom!" We can never have too many people love and care about our dogs.
ReplyDeleteI would make that decision too. Ruby sounds like a wonderful lady and a great friend. Praying for Keith.
ReplyDeleteStitches are out and I'm thankful that Bob is okay. I know this was a decision that took a lot of thought and prayers, but I most likely would have made the same decision. Prayers for Keith and for Ruby... Hope you will take some time for yourself to rest and get re-energized.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot to handle all those appointments and such heavy news at the same time. You and Bob are making very brave and personal decisions about his care, and I truly respect your peace and clarity during this busy season. I will be keeping Keith and the rest of your circle in my prayers as you navigate these health hurdles and find time for your chores.
ReplyDeleteI AM praying for all that has been happening for you mentioned. Myself had appointments with specials as well. because covid comes and goes and colds and other occurrences every things gets back lash . YOU Look good for all you have gone thorough. TAKE a break of course from posting. I do the same.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about Bob's issues. Keeping him in my prayers. I think your decision to not proceed further is okay. You have definitely been busy. Glad you like your new mower. I will say a prayer for Ruby's husband. You take care. Thank you for the update.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to read that Bob is doing well and that Ruby is still walking with you. Lots of heavy things on your plate and I send you all the love and huggs. Thank you for sharing this story with us.
ReplyDeleteGood decision made by you both. We wouldn't want the added stress of knowing anything like that, either. At our ages, well...we just don't worry about things like that much anymore. One day at a time for us now...love and fun...that's it.
ReplyDeletehugs
