How Do You Post?

Ideas for a post pop in my head at any given moment. If I Try to think of a post, Nada....

When a post pops into my head, I grab this spiral notebook and write it down because in a few minutes the thoughts disaper, sometimes I write the whole post, sometimes just jot down the idea.

My biggest problem is how to cut back on the length of my post because I write like I talk (Chatty Cathy is what my friend calls me)

Do you create post in draft and leave them there? Do you pop in pics and leave in drafts?

How do you keep your ideas for a post? Or do you just put the photos in and start typing? Ideas Please
'
Due to the fact so many of you thought this post was to short, HA HA HA I am adding and UPDATE after 5 people already commented...

the thing I use the most is Sticky Notes on the computer.... if I find a quote or if I want to add a link to a post, I copy and paste on the sticky notes. Windows 7 has them and I use them all the time. see below

  1. I need to learn how to write ideas down when I think of them. My problem is that most ideas come to me when I'm not able to take notes.
On the weekends though if something comes to me I attempt to get pictures that will go with the idea. Sometimes I just go through my pictures and see what thoughts come to me.
I have to say that you do a great job of putting your posts together.

  2. Woof! Woof! All ideas/topics on my om's head. She writes them down on our monthly blog calendar. It can change caused she got lot sin mind. Drafts can be on paper or directly written on a draft post. Pictures are her inspirations. This is a good topic to talk about ... we might borrow it. Have a good weekend. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar

  3. Hummm I guess we just get inspiration from the photos MOM takes. This can be as we are hiking a long and has she takes the picture or after we are home and she is looking at them. Then she just hopes she remembers what she thought of as she looks or looked at the scene. I think your idea works better.

  6. I write my posts in the blogger platform on the computer and keep a backup document in word as well just in case.

  7. How do I post? -chuckle- All of the above!

Really, it all depends on the day. Sometimes, I compose ahead of time, and return to it, tweeking it. Sometimes, just sit down and post. Sometimes, do whole post the day before and Schedule it to Publish the next morning.

Basically, I have no tried-and-true way of doing my posting.

As for ideas which pop into my head... I jot them down, in the closest little notebook. :-)

Now I'm wondering??? How many of your Dear Readers will do their posting, in-all-sorts-of-ways, like me???????????? ,-)

  8. I usually wait to see what I do or what happens in my day. I post a photo then write the post. On occasion I will jot down an idea to use when I have a blah day.

  10. I usually just write down what I think of when I open the computer in the mornings. Although there have been times when I've thought of a funny post and didn't keep a note or something to remind me of what I thought about so the spiral notebook is a good idea. I did start that once but I couldn't keep it up. That was years ago.

  11. I jot down ideas, usually in a word document, copy and paste quotes, its a mumble jumble document but it works for me. Plus not posting everyday gives my old brain some thinking time.

  12. since i'm photo oriented, the memes i regularly participate in give me my blog 'skeleton'. i prepare posts to go with that theme of the day. there's a few days are 'anything goes' which i actually have to work harder at filling in.

  14. Interesting topic. Most of my inspiration coming as I am out walking the girlz. I just hope that I can remember it when I get back to the computer!! I've just recently started writing notes in a notebook. Maybe just maybe I will become more organized. LOL Happy Weekend Sandra.

  15. I wondered how you always had such entertaining posts. I usually build my posts around my photos. I start thinking about it after I've taken the pics then put it together all at once. I am not organized enough to keep a notebook. I would never be able to find it when I needed it.

  16. I guess I am photo oriented too.
Doing the ABC Wednesday for the last 6 years keeps me on my toes.
I am always looking at the world through the alphabet...
I do write notes to myself but just yesterday I was looking for my latest note to myself and I guess I threw it out with the junk mail...
Not happy with myself. I can't remember what all was on that note.
I definitely write too much as I see I am doing right now so I think I will say
    The End!

  17. I am getting some new ideas from you. I usually start with the pictures and then just type what comes to my mind. That is probably very evident on my posts, but that is me.

  18. My posts are not well planned for the most part. I just use what is in my head at the time I sit at my laptop.
I have become more undisciplined over time. I think that's because most of my life I had to be in charge and now I've decided to pull back and let others take on stuff. I got too tired!!

  19. I'm not very systematic about it except I partake in certain weekly challenges. And I steal ideas... :)

  20. Hmmm - I don't write them down. I just think about what day it is and what I want to write I guess. I have so many things going over and over in my head. Haha - is that a surprise?

  21. usually i chose the photos that i'll be using in my post,so i start to upload my photos and then i write down some thoughts on a notebook. i'd say i usually build my posts around my pictures. and i usually keep it short.

  22. I like your notebook photos!
Most of the time my ideas come from the photos. For instance I might get a series of shots of the cats and put those in draft. Usually an idea for captions will pop into my head later and I will go back and add it to the photos.

I will admit that there is a small memo pad next to my computer at the moment that has two song titles that gave me an idea for posts. Now I need photos to match.

I love sticky notes but the last one I put on my computer was last seen stuck to one of the cats fur. MOL!

  23. I usually start with the photos and see where that leads. I do keep short notes of sayings or thoughts that come.

  24. It's really interesting to find out the different approaches to creating a post.
I usually have an idea about what I'm going to post starting with the photos, but I spend quite a lot of time thinking how I'm going to describe them, research facts and make a story so do write a few notes. Mainly I just choose the photos and hope inspiration will come as I start writing things down.
At the moment I'm finding it difficult to post something that may be of interest to others and at the same time I want to record my everyday life for my own benefit.
