I received these 4 photos in a text from Bob's granddaughter, Elaine, goes by Lanie. She is 34 and lives in Jacksonville, Florida. She lives in an apartment on her mothers house. It is a 10 acre mini ranch, with horses, dogs, cats, chickens, assorted other critters.
She said tell Granddad I finally got a chick born in my hand. I have tried many times. She said it was an incredible experience watching it break out of the shell in her hand.
This is pretty amazing to me.
Her mom has 5 Great Danes and a Pit Bull and raises Chihuahuas and Lanie has a Great Pyrenes, a big cat and they found the kitten at the top in the pasture a few days ago.
Wow! A true animal lover. But it scares me what the dog is doing with the kitten. Looks like he may be playing, but he is really being rough. The chick hatch is amazing!
ReplyDeleteoh what a paradise... all the best to ths wonderful people... and all the best to the chicklet.. the miracle of life...

ReplyDeleteLanie is certainly living in Pets Paradise. Do they think someone dumped the little kitten?
I wonder how the mother hen feels when she smells human on the newly hatched chick?
(Hope you’re feeling much better these days)
Wow the chicken hatch in the hand must have been an experience. Sounds like a fun place to live.
ReplyDeleteNow how cool would that be to have a chicken hatch right in your hand. The video with the dog and the kitten was cute. Fun to watch them.
ReplyDeleteCool chick hatching in her hand!

I am sure that it was a moving experience to hold the egg and watch the chick hatch.
ReplyDeleteWow, Lanie sounds like someone that fits right in with us..that little chick is so adorable.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a cool experience to have a chick hatch in your hand.
ReplyDeleteThe chickens are cute and the kitties. Take care, have a great day and happy weekend.
Amazing to see a chick hatching even when nit being held and a very cute kitten.
ReplyDeleteI feel sadder for dumped kittens than truly feral ones - we domesticate them and rob them of their feral survival instincts and then leave them to fend for themselves. Who does that? Isn't it cute? And it certainly knows how to handle the dog.
ReplyDeleteLanie's so fortunate to be living in such a nice situation. Animals are fun. We're surrounded by them too but it's mostly wild ones. Wonderful post. Have a great day. 💙
ReplyDeleteOh wow(!) on that chick working her way into the world while in Lainey's hand. My heart!
ReplyDeleteI love the Great Pyrenes (breed) and this one looks like a gentle giant, albeit mischievous. Just look at that big grin on his face!
PS - My new great g-daughter is going to be named Lainie (not sure of the spelling).
Amazing and wonderful post
ReplyDeleteThank Lanie...I know Bob was tickled
Hugs Cecilia
