Above is The Stump, after Milton and the tree that came down.
Below is a photo from this week, 9 weeks later
The rocks were hidden under all the debris, I cleared it and planted ferns, and weeds and flowers from other parts of our yard.
Above is Moss Rose, you saw it growing in the ground, in the front yard behind the stump they removed. It was 1/3 the size it is now when I transplanted it 5 weeks ago. I had no idea how moss rose can spread so quickly.
These are weeds that are growing every where right now. We are still in drought, and they are drought resistant and wow do they grow with ever other day I water them with the hose
three types of weeds transplanted when 6 inch size, now 12 to 16 inches tall. I dug them up from the other side of the yard. |
Before the storm, I rescued these 4 palms from the curb of a house that threw them out. They have been waiting to be planted. Soon I will transplant a long the fence.
Side yard, still a work in progress.
Notice behind the trees, Nature is doing her thing, all it needs is water |

You missed your calling. You should have been a landscaper. It looks so much better, and I can't see how it could have been done any better.

That's all starting to look proper, again! YAM xx
It is nice to see the green coming back and all the pretty flowers.
Thanks to you and your green thumb and water of course.
Take care, have a great day!
Wow, everything is growing nicely under your care.
I know this blesses your heart, seeing the plants coming back. You have worked hard and your labor is paying off....Hopefully, in no time at all, your back yard will be full of blooming flowers.
Everything is a work in progress around here! I love your new photos of you and Beau. They are precious!
Sandra - that is awesome in just a few weeks. A couple of months more and it will be BEAUTIFUL! Good positivity.
Well I'll be look how quickly ugly turned into Beautiful...thank you for sharing on Nature Friday
Hugs Cecilia
I love how everything is bouncing back. A little TLC and lots of elbow grease does a great job. Things in order really will give you a sense of peace.
Going to Lynne's in an hour..its getting harder to do but I will keep at it for a while longer..for her daughter Karen's sake.

That's certainly looking better and better! :)
You have been busy and everything looks so nice. I love that shoot coming out of the tree branch. You are so right all nature needs is water.
Alpha and Omega! Or better, like the mythical Phoenix, rising from the ashes. Your soil's like their spa!
These illustrations give so much hope to seeming decay.
I love seeing your outside world coming back to life!!!!
I'm glad to see that things are starting to grow. That is interesting about the rocks. The stump is being hidden more and more.
It is all already starting to look green and healthy again. You have a very green thumb or maybe several of them:)

Nature usually wins and doesn't get stumped by too much!
It's all looking good...I love how you and God and nature all came together to create a lovely new landscape where there was so much destruction! Beauty for ashes...
I have embraced the 'meadow' look instead of the sharp manicured yard. I really like the 'English garden' look, too, and I use existing plants like you do....divide and multiply!
I think gardening is good therapy and we both need some of that!
I would love for you to get rain till I could watch the transformation of your yard.
The natural world is always ready to rebound, nice to see how things are starting to fill in all that emptiness that was there after the big cleanup.
Hurray for you and all that work, and for drought-resistant plants!
You are a plant whisperer, you have definitely got a green thumb. Applauding here.
You have been working hard, Sandra, and the plants are responding to your care.
Your hard work has payed off
