The Bissel, The Pancake and the Plumber

My doctor said I should not lose another pound of weight, due to my age, that after 80 we need to keep what we have, because not if, but when we get ill, we need the extra to lose. My friend Jackie proved this, she has now been in the hospital for 9 weeks and has lost 47 pounds.

I found my self down by 7 pounds, the first part of this month, which proves that Exercise works, especially when added to STRESS. Since Dec 20th Beau has not taken a step out side, that I was not step by step with him. You may have read Purple Puppy Poo Eater last week.

Added to that is the fact that my husband of 40 years has always vacuumed the carpets. I have a bad back from years ago and the push pull puts me in bed for 2 days. These days I have no time to lay in bed to get better. I have found that the Bissell push/pull does a great job of removing dog hair.

I use it by doing one of my daily balance exercises with it in front of me. It's simple.

Just don't push/pull. Walk forward 8 steps/backward 8 steps repeat until done. This gives me balance that I need and cleans at same time.

All of the above has caused the weight loss. I have a short list of foods that do not aggravate IBS, and I needed to add calories to what I eat. Below is my 300 calorie breakfast which is normal, made to be 450 calories.

Gluten free flour, 1 egg, Raw Oats,  Soy Milk, Peanut Butter Powder, Pure Maple Syrup.
I just added a little more of each ingredient except for the egg.

While cleaning up the mess, I now wipe every thing with paper towels before washing it so that I can Baby the Kitchen drain, per the plumber., who' said do not get one thing down that drain but water.

I took his words to heart and Now all dishes are scraped, wiped, and placed in a dishpan in the sink, and the strainer is used for small amounts of water, the gallon pitcher is used to carry larger amounts out side and throw on the dirt in the back yard.

Last but now least for you , Myra, this is what lives in the space for a dishwasher. One can for the dishpan, one for the pitcher. And walking all the dishwater to the yard instead of down the drain is part of the weight loss.

Bad News Good News

Bad News... opened Cabinet to put coffee filters away, knocked the Vanilla flavor bottle off, hit the counter, down the crevice between Fridge and Counter, disappeared under the back of the fridge.

Good news... when Bob pulled the fridge out of its home space, we found the bottle.

Bad news... it was filthy under there requiring a broom, a mop and small hand vaccumn and both fan filters were clogged .

Good news ... we found the two fans and filters were completely clogged which was bad, but we had a hand vac that sucked it all out and it could have harmed the fridge if we had not found it.

Bad news.... after we put the fridge back in place, the kitchen floor was covered in debris

The Good News is I had this wonderful Bissel in the closet.

I love this thing and use it a lot, almost every day, see Fourpaws ETC for the reason.
But Wait! there is More!
More Good News! Because I opened the cabinet where our trash can lives, to empty the Bissel, I saw the overflowing recycle can and remembered it was Recyle Pickup day and took all three out and did it just in time for the pickup.

MopVacMan in the house

we have all of the above, just so you know.

Update on the Bissell Sweeper. I neglected details of why we have this outdated sweeper.

Bob and I do our floors every Saturday AM at 5.

I sweep tile floors, he vacs the carpets and mops the tile. I clean the glass top tables and sliding glass doors.

I have a small rechargable hand held vac, that pics up dog hairs I sweep up with the broom.

Bob  has been VacMopMan for about 20 years now due to the fact I have a bad back.

He rather do that then listen to me moan in pain the next 2 days.

The roller Bissell was bought in 2017 when Bob had a stroke and for about 8 weeks could not use the vacuum.
I swept, mopped and Bissel Swept the carpet. This worked fine because the MAN was not able to MESS as much as normally.

I got the idea for the sweeper from watching the waitress roller sweep crumbs from under a table after the children left.
If you know me, you know I bought the Bissell at Wal-Mart.
Now we have 4 brooms, 2 vacs and a Sweeper.
Now if there was only an APP that could do all of it.

The Simple Life

I don't mean to make sweeping generalizations, but all brooms are pretty much the same!

But not my Bissel. I love it! It sweeps by person power, just roll it back and forth, if the power is out, use the time to sweep. Need exercise? sweep the whole house with it... Do you have one?
We use brooms for sweeping, upright vacuum for the carpets. This is for in between and sweeping up dog/man crumbs between Saturdays, which is when we do the floors together. Me on the broom, Bob on the Vac.
A little PHUN for you..
A chimney sweep called in sick to work! He had a touch of the flue.

A guy calls a chimney sweep to get his chimney cleaned. The sweep checks it out and then says he can do the job for $1,200. "TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!" the guy shouts. "For that much I'll do it myself." The sweep chuckles and says "Okay soot yourself "
