Stop! Her Madness is at it again
A few weeks after we adopted Big Boy, my son and his wife came to meet Big. While he was hear he showed me how to stand the cell phone up, hold my hand up, close my fist, and I had 3 seconds to pose. I totally forgot about it until I wanted selfies of the new shirt.
I propped the Samsung Tablet on the kitchen counter and you know the rest of the story.
to be continued....

Owl be telling you
When you shop, what aisle do you wander down, every time you shop? What do you wish for?
I wander through the Computers, cell phones, tablets and other techie stuff... I wish for one of each of what I see..
Can you guess how I took these selfies? Owl be telling you tomorrow... It took a little more than the luck of the Irish. It all started when I showed you in a prior post, of my new t-shirt hanging on a hanger. the MAD took over the Snapper in me.... coming soon to a post near you.

Surf at Longboat
![]() |
| this photo is a combo of surf and a bird photo from yesterday. can you tell i added them using PicMonkey |
The foaming breaking waves were only about 5 to 7 inches tall. They look like big waves because I used my long lens to zoom in close.
![]() |
| The color on this one is the true aqua green of the surf |
I stood calf high and aimed at them as they broke around me...
What detergent do surfers use to wash their clothes?
"TIDE"
How do surfers say Hi to each other?
they "WAVE"

Birds at Longboat Beach
We saw a flock of maybe 200 birds all in the surf WAITING...watching the 3 fisherman with live bait..
Imagine a long line of all these birds, maybe a quarter mile long and 30 feet wide of beach and surf with all these birds.
Per my friend Holly we saw Royal Terns, Caspian terns, Sandwich Terns, Black backed Gulls, common gulls and Willets
below these guys were digging coquinas (tiny tasty clams) out of the sand
my grandmother used to make soup with these Coquinas that we picked up but I did not taste it. If you search Google Images for Coquinas you can see how tiny they are. The beach across the bridge from Longboat is named Coqunia Beach.
And the gulls were dressed in their tuxedos
JUST FOR YOU

Longboat Beach
Sunday at 7:15 AM Bob and Sandra at the beach....
Bob hoofed it down to the water down this path...
to stand patiently waiting in his "she is taking another photo" stance.
The flowers were calling my name..
The shoes were calling my name..
They had the cutest cubby holes to leave our shoes in, and it only took me about five minutes to slip off my flip flops and place them in the cubby hole...
Can you guess why it took me five minutes?????
Just in case you are pondering why there is a place to leave our shoes, it is because there is a parking lot and a very long boardwalk to get over the dunes with out destroying them.
The shoes are left at the beginning of the white sugar sand in order to squiggle our toes in sugar sand and walk barefoot down to the water.
Above is looking to the west and below is looking to the east..
There were maybe 10 people on the whole beach which is about 2 miles long
TO BE CONTINUED... but then you KNEW that..

Tree Art - Beachside
Above photo as it came out of the camera, I took several shots like this to play with, blowing out the color by setting the shutter speed at different speeds. I found 1/160 took must of the color and detail out, so took half a dozen on that setting.
Above is after I edited it a little in Photo Shop, and below I changed it to Black and White...and played with the black and white until I liked it.
I do love these dead trees, to me they are works of art just as they are.

Beach Bum Bob

| Whitney Beach on Longboat Key AKA Beer Can Island |
For my birthday Bob and I went to our favorite beach, a short 10 miles from home.. Make that a not so short but 23 minute 10 mile drive.. to Beer Can Island...
for past post on Beer Can Island Click Here Scroll down, the label takes you to this post first, others are under it.
Bob loves the water, he headed straight out and laid down to float..
After nearly 3 dozen shots (guess what, they all looked just like these) taken my MS... Bob came out of the water and we headed down to the wooded area...
See The Look? I get that every time I aim the camera at him, just like our dogs, he hates my camera.
We walked down to the island part and he said I can't go any further because _________ to me and waded out to watch the schools of fish as they swam around the tree stumps..
. I had to walk alone....leaving him watching fish. I will let you in on the story tomorrow.
