I am Stumped!

I am still stumped at the case of the disappearing moss rose flowers. Whomever ate the moss rose flowers has munched half of the petals off the 3 surviving black eyed Susan's.. I spared you a photo of another Susan.

That's OK, the leaning mail box shadow will do... I am also stumped as to why the mail box is leaning, I am blaming global warming...  it is so hot here the ground is melting.

Can you find the lizard in these photos???

I put in a tree-mendous amout of time creating this post...
What a treet for all of you...   Is this treesome, or what?

kitchen b and white

This Photo Because I could

Do you sink into despair when there are dishes waiting to be washed ?

Last time I cooked, hardly anyone got sick... Heh Heh Heh

This plant has been hanging in the corner of the kitchen since 1989... it has been repotted 3 times.

Did you know if you throw a piece of the above plant on the ground in Florida it will grow to the top of the tallest tree? The leaves will be 8 to 12 inches long. It also spreads on the ground and will completely cover what ever gets in it's path if not stopped.

Anything goes when the Nikon is set on black and white
Did you know fresh pineapple is the treatment for Gout? Since Bob has been eating it and fresh cherries, NO GOUT.....

Jake, Our Heart Dog

Jake is doing better, he is off an on with the panting/pacing, but has slept 4 nights in a row, letting me sleep until 3:30 am instead of the mid night rides of Jake Revere.... He sometimes get stuck in tight spots and has to be re-routed by mommy.... He grew to 50 pounds by age 1 and has been the same weight for 13 years. He looks younger in black and white, the gray doesn't show. You many never see a color photo of ME again..... Good for Jake Good for ME.

Jake was having a ruff time, he keeps saying "Stop Hounding me with that Camera".  This may sound far-fetched, but he did say to me  "fur-real" mommy?

I am moving to the 'barking' lot if you don't stop following me... Jake says Thanks fur stopping by today.

UPDATE.. I created this post last Thursday for today. The three day week end and today, the panting/pacing is back and he is having trouble getting up and down. Fell off the chair at 2:30 am and I had to lift him up. After a calming treat and a Carprophen, about 40 minutes later, he can walk and get up and down.... the hips are going..

Why All The Black n White?

Tuesday morning, having dumped photos from Nikon to Desktop, I stood with camera in hand staring out the living room window at the dead grapefruit tree.

Suddenly, thanks to Pam and Myra and their black and white photos, I decided to set the Nikon on black and white, and take photos of the dead tree.  I took 2 in color to show you what I saw.

I knew when I started the sun was blinding and at the wrong angle to get the tree properly.  Did it anyway.  This grapefruit tree is 33 years old, Bob grew it from a seed from a pink grapefruit. He found the seed while eating the fruit at work, it had a sprout on it. He planted it in a cup, then a bucket in the yard of our home in Saint Petersburg. When we moved he planted it in   this spot and my uncle said it would never have fruit. It did! and all the neighbors Loved Them as did we. It died last year due to drought and some kind of leaf rot, that took it and 2 hibiscus.

It ended with my heart breaking. I turned from the tree to go inside, and standing behind the fence was my sweet almost blind, almost deaf Jake. He was ON GUARD, Staring at me, like is that something I should bark at?

I started to wave at him and say It's Mommy, Jake over and over. He could not hear me so I walked closed to the gate and said I'TS MOMMY JAKE,think MegaPhone Loud.. so loud the neighbors may have popped out to see what was going on.

HE came to the fence smiling at me, and turned his head away, looking embarrassed because he did not know me.... Bob was in the pool and when I went through the house Jake was trying to get in side to find out if I was in the house. Bob said when I opened the door. What's wrong with Jake... and when I told him we were heart broken together.

Thus began my quest for black n white photos... Yesterday's post was out of order. More to come and I promise I will keep the words MINIMAL... 👀👄

Black and White Sunday

Judy, A.K.A. Squirrel Queen, asked if I ever took black and white with the camera, the answer was no, i don't know if the Rebel will take black and white.... Well, yes it does.... I tried the jungle shot first

then I aimed the camera at the Jungle Keeper and got a scowl  (the spots on the shirt are from throwing chlorine into the pool when the wind was blowing in his face)

(yes, I could have removed said spots, but why bother)

a Stop now scowl...

and as I begged for a small smile, this was as good as it got.....he Almost Smiled

Shadow Shot in black and white

While starting at the ferns and the bucket garden, my Snappy Mind thought, put the Nikon point and shoot on black and white and see what happens in the bright noon day sun. So I DID!

Our pineapple is growing up fast.

Above is where hubby ripped creeper off the fence and the little thingys left behind, below is YET ANOTHER Moss Rose..... sorry about that, but it is Black and White and a little different.

FMTSO- My Town Sepia

Downtown Bradenton  UPDATE from SuperPages.com on Bradentons History.
Located on the Manatee River, Bradenton is the seat of Manatee County in Florida. The area is believed to have been discovered by the Spanish conquistador Hernando de Soto, who landed at Shaw's Point in 1539 to begin his 4,000 mile search for El Dorado. However, the city takes its name from Dr. Joseph Braden, the sugarcane magnate who settled in the area in 1853. According to local legends, Braden's fort-like home and sugar mill served as a refuge for early settlers against frequent attacks from Native Americans.
This week Friday My Town Shoot Out, was choice of Sepia or Black and White. This is some of our local architecture that I admire.

Teach a child to be polite and courteous, and when he grows up, he'll never be able to edge his car onto a freeway.

Two can live as cheaply as one, for half as long (tee hee)
