Raccoon MANIA! again!

See these cute and innocent looking Raccoons? The photos are from prior post, May of 2014 HERE.
Warning, the link is full of Raccoon Porn....

For the past 8 days, 3 to 5 raccoons have been making us crazy, with noise and sudden appearances in our yard. Big can't lay still. From 6 pm until bedtime he paces and stands at the back door. he KNOWS they are out there. 3 nights ago, at midnight I heard a racket, it sounds like horses were on the roof and loud chittering.... they skipped the next night, but last night at 2:35 AM, the screeching started, all you know what broke loose. Big and I jumped from bed and raced to the back door to turn on the flood lights, which usually makes them leave.

NOT this time... they were mating!   you have NEVER heard such a racket. see below what I found on line... circled in RED because I am Red Hot over these critters. in 2014 there were two and now there are FIVE plus one of these IS HUGE and looks pregnant... we tried to have a trapper trap and remove. that did not work out. Yes, we live in the city limits, but this is Florida.

To Here The Sound go to YouTube HERE   Yes, the sound will go away when the FULL moon starts to wane, but they will not... they will be here to torment Big Boy and ME... Bob can't hear them. Big can hear every sound they make, including claws clicking on pool deck and laping of water from the pool.... Hurry winter... they sleep most of the time.

Raccoon Sighting August 18, 2018

These Photos are from a PRIOR POST about raccoons making babies in our yard
on May 6, 2014

We did have a sighting of Racoon Foot Prints in Feb of this year, beside the pool.
And I have heard rustling noises on the other side of the fence.
And The Male of our species always POOH POOH's my fears and says we have not seen them in years, they are Gone....HA!

Each morning I take Jake out when we wake up, I flip on the flood lights to scare off critters before I turn it off and take him outside. Lights OFF because who wants to see me in my gown?

Bob just goes in the dark, but I am hot on Jakes heels with a flash light. While guarding the dog, I pick up his deposits.

I do this because on Saturday, Sept. 3rd 2016, Jake had a terrible fight with a pregnant female. There is not prior post on it because the details were gruesome.

Today I picked up the flashlight at 4 am and for some dumb reason, let our blind and deaf dog out, he went to the left, I started to follow. I heard PLOP! splash and ripples. Turning the flashlight to the ripples I saw a half grown raccoon swimming like crazy.
I went into panic mode. Jake is in no condition to fight. I could not call him, we use hand signals, I race to him as he is about to potty and grabbing by the collar drag him to the door, he has his breaks on because What the heck Mama, I am not done yet. Racing down the hall I tap the deaf husband on the hip, using sign language something is in the pool.
He has no idea what I am saying but comes with me to the pool.
It is GONE! thank you Lord, But then I could hardly breathe while Jake Finished what he had started because I just KNEW it would come back.

I asked Google Search if they can swim, and found that they are excellent swimmers and can swim for hours if needed. It said they are reluctant to swim because they don't like to get wet. I think we startle him/her as he/she washed the food. The food being the reason we have no nightblooming flowers... I have shown Bob the left overs of the big buds on the ground, I said something is sitting in the swing and eating all the buds, and showed him five crunched and bitten bottoms.

Now we know!!!!  A word to anyone who puts food out for these wild animals, they can carry rabies, they get distemper and they are MEAN with dogs.... Please don't feed wild animals, even if you don't care, they might hurt someone else pet.

OH NO! Not Raccoons again.

Above is one of three paw prints by the side of the pool found this week. We have not seen sight of one since May of 2014 and had hoped they were gone for good. Jake fights with them, and he is to old to tango fight now.

PRIOR POST Raccoon Mania

our boy is aging, he is 13, 91 in dog years and slowing down causing my heart to ache.

Raccoon-amania part 2

After 2 hours of love making, the male above is resting, can you say exhaustion?

After a little research, I found , they can live for 20 years,

they deliver in 63 days and babies open their eyes at 3 weeks.

By my calculations they should arrive  on June 6 and eyes open June 21.

OH PLEASE little Bandits, do not make your home in our yard...I do hope the babies open their eyes and do NOT see my yard..

Raccoon have hands like humans, and can open any and everything and are very destructive. They love to swim...

OH NO... have they been having a pool party at night? am I swimming in raccoon water?

I was in snap happy mode, they got tired of it and wandered off up the tree...

Raccoon-amania...

Out of the camera, way to dark

At 5:30 AM Sunday morning, the dogs went tearing to the door. Alert! Alert!
I went to the open window and heard loud chittering noises.

I did not let the dogs out.

At 7 Am which is ball game time for Jake, we let them out and they went straight to the bottom of our big pine tree...

cropped to show their faces

two raccoon, sitting in a tree,
both their eyes staring at me.
Look Bob a raccoon and her baby
Oh no, not a baby, they are making babies.

 YES! MS shouted they are!
I hope they are not to far..
I hope they stay,
While I am away

MS sprinted for the table
and was very able
to change the lens before they were gone

OK so the last one doesn't rhyme. they were there
from 6 am to 8 am.
