old stump from past tree removal |
Above is the stump from Hurricane Milton. 5 months of me watering it, because we had only 1 rain in 5 months. When our summer rains begin, IF they do it will go all Tropical by itself
Below photos are closeup shots of what has simply grown there by Adding Water.
The above is moss rose, I transplanted it from the front yard stump and below I transplanted that from the front yard. this plant will take over the yard. the just appear when it rains.
this is the view now of the dirt below 3 months ago. All that changed is I watered dirt with hose twice a week and throw all my dishwater out on the dirt. Its God's weeds but better than dirt.

So much variety! What is the plant with the long thin leaves that are dark red on the underside? 7th photo.
Your yard already looks so much better!
It doesn't take long for plants to grow in sub tropical climate.
its great to see how fast the nature can help to bring back a green place...

It is green recovery like this that brings us hope... YAM xx
Keep on doing what you are doing. It’s looking better all the time.
Hello,
Looks like a fantastic recovery, just keep adding water.
I love the ferns. Take care, enjoy your day!
Nature Friday. I love that. Plan to be outside today later, enjoying the day. Happy Weekend and boogie boogie.
What a difference 3 months and some water can make. You sure have a lot growing there now. Whatever type of fern that is, I like it.
Love the greenery! I have never had much luck with moss roses. xo Diana
El natural! So, what is the plant Ginny asked about. That is pretty. Nature is amazing. Probably what was there before we civilized the area.
Aren't the powers of water something! "Recovery", like Yamini said.
Now I so wish you could come up and tell me what to do with the two big stumps that remain in our back yard.
I enjoyed Nature Friday and all of the neat ferns and plants that are growing around your stump. I'm thinking the plant with the red looks like a Ti plant. Not sure though. I had a couple of them and the Winter freeze killed them both. Enjoy today....hopefully you will get a good rain soon.
Isn't it amazing how things change in that amount of time? It's looking good!
I think it looks really good. We have some blue flowers...weeds cropping up everywhere. Florida is a good place to grow plants!
Spiderwort...I couldn't think of it for a minute! hahaha!
It's starting to look fairly green in your yard.
Sandra you and water worked magic...
Very nice Nature Friday
Hugs Cecilia
So happy to see all that beautiful green!!
Water works wonders... I love that the green is starting to grow..right in time for St. Paddy's Day.. (:0)
Today we have more rain and wind but not as bad as a few days ago. The weeds are adoring it !! I just don't like when the prickly sharp weeds grow so fast. They are really tough to get rid of.
Love the ferns..

Hi Sandra :)
Things are looking much better. I like the ferns, and if you could get some Hidrângea cuttings and plant them around that big tree stump, the flowers will eventually cover it.
Just a suggestion, as I know plants grow very quickly in your climate.
Amazing what water and love can do to create beauty...with God's help, of course! Maybe sprinkle some flower seeds in the dirt and see what comes up! I just planted a few zinnia seeds in my butterfly garden, but I didn't do anything fancy...just put them in the dirt and watered them. I hope they will come up. I don't have a green thumb, so we shall see what develops, if anything.
Looking good! It'll only get better has the weather warms and the rains continue. We've been working outside a lot too. Guess I should post those on FaceBook. We're gonna have loads of flowers by Summer, or sooner, I hope.
Love & Blessings To Ya Cousin. 🍀
What is the plant with purple leaves in the first photo below the paragraph? Love that plant.
Amazing to see it come back to life. Even the Sahara would turn into a garden given enough water, and every weed is a wildflower :)
It's looking good. Hopefully you will get a few showers and it will continue to take off without you having to water it. The ferns are so pretty.
The green is looking pretty darn good!
Water is life. And from the looks of it, there’s new life in your yard. ☘️ Just in time for St Patrick’s Day!
Definitely better than dirt...we just had our first hail if the season.
Sandra, I liked your wording about the green being God’s weeds as that is shat we also had in our VA yard, always better than just dirt. What a change from just a few months ago and for the better as well.
