Guess where I am going tomorrow? Liquid Diet Only, ONE coffee at wakeup today, clear liquids, nothing RED, which is my favorite of all flavors. I nixed the Gatorade, GAGGY stuff, could not find any Jello except Cherry, Strawberry or Lemon. Had to go to two stores to find OLD FASHIONED popsicles, Publix had theirs under a sign that said Frozen Novelties! And yes, they were all novel and not old timey.
I have lost sleep for 3 nights, driven Bob crazy planning what to eat/not eat, what to wear, not wear. THEY said, loose, comfy clothes, button down the front, nothing tight. wear or bring socks. What?
Do they make you keep your clothes on? Why loose? Why button down the front? Did they run out of split down the back, ugly gowns?
I DON"T OWN A SINGLE SHIRT that is not a T- Shirt, except 2 sleeveless BRRR blouses, no buttons. I have zero pants that are all leggings.
If I show up in a black t-shirt and black leggings, will they send me home?
Will I be able to stop myself from eating food? Will I grab the red popsicle first? Will I pass out from dehydration because I can't drink the Gaggi broth?
Will I mess up Karla's car? She is a friend who will be my driver. Does it stop after drinking a gallon of STUFF and guess what? It's lemon.
And last but not anywhere least, Will bob and Beau be ok HOME ALONE? How long will I be gone?
Ok, tell me your stories, I will read them while I await the 4 pm START DRINKING AND FINISH BY MIDNIGHT thing. the real last is will the plumbing in my bathroom flush??????
Aren't you glad you don't live in my head???????????????????????

Yes, it's yucky stuff. Sorry you have to go through it. ❤️
They want you to wear these kind of clothes because they put you in a hospital gown. It makes it easier for you to get dressed and undressed. But they won't care what you wear. You will not poop in the car. After you are all cleaned out, there is nothing left, and you likely won't poop for a couple days at least. The minute I saw this food, I knew what you were prepping for. you will be knocked out and not feel anything. The very worst part is the prep. After that, it is all a piece of cake. The stuff is hard to drink toward the end. I suggest using a STRAW. That way it will go past your tongue and you won't have to taste it. Straws make it less nauseous.
we should live closer... we could meet at night for a fashion show or a recipe exchange if we can not sleep.. no one is alone with all that questions ..
I think Blogger swallowed my comment! Your ordeal will soon be over and then you can relax.
Oh my, I have been there. The prep was the worst part.
I hope all is Ok and procedure goes well!
Take care, enjoy your day!
All will be well. Rest assured. Millions of us have done this. Relax!

All be over soon... YAM xx
Sooner or later, most adults have this not-so-fun prep experience, but as others have said, the procedure is less taxing because you are not awake and it’s done almost before you know it. The anticipation is also the worst because you are worrying about so many things, including Bob and Beau. Your blog friends will all want to know that all was well, Sandra, and send good thoughts.
What Ginny said. I couldn't have said it better myself. You will be fine I can feel it.
MOL MOL Mad Snapper has gone mad. The only real worry is the loo flushing. Oh dear...the actual procedure is a breeze.
Prep is different for all. As for the clothing. I don't own an leggings I hate tight clothes. Sending lots of purrs for today
Hugs cecilia
I remember having the same thoughts/fears the first time ... and yes, I gagged and gagged. Not for the yukky Gatorade, but the thick mucous potion they made me drink. Fortunately, last year this new doctor said he only prescribes Ducolax.
I'm seriously coveting that spoon you've shown -- is it yours, or AI? (Ya, I'm weird like that.)
Oh boy! Hope it goes well for you. I have the same thing coming up in about 3 weeks...
Our mom says you have nothing to worry about. We're sure Beau will keep Bob in line, and you will be home before you know it.
I wore a loose fitting pullover dress that I bought at Walmart years ago just for my go-to-hospital procedure outfit. It is easy to get out of the way quick if necessary. I wore depends under it to the hospital and took along a clean pair to wear home. But the procedure itself is a breeze...and doesn't take long. Yes, the prep is the worst. Sounds like you will not get any sleep tonight. Might as well set up a cot in the bathroom...you won't want to be very far away once things get started. We will be praying for you that "everything comes out all right". :) I drank my heated chicken broth and/or beef broth in a mug like a cup of tea or coffee. I actually like the beef better. You are going to be fine. God is with you in the icky stuff as well as in the good stuff. (((hugs)))
You will do fine! My favorite part is the nap....
I agree with Ginny. The preparations are much worse than the examination as such. I got no special instructions about what to wear, I got to change to special hospital clothes when there. I'm guessing socks just so your feet won't get cold and the rest just comfy clothes easy to take off/on ?? Hope all goes well! ♥
I already did that last year and have four years before I have to do this again. The prep is awful. I agree with that.
Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to handsome Beau. ♥
It must be really crowded living in your head. No room for more occupants.
I know what test - and I think this is your first time. It is scary - but you WILL DO FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I promise. Relax.
I had my first one last year at 70. I used the Ducolax. It wasn’t as bad as I thought. But one thing, when it really started working, I dribbled and went through a few pairs of underwear. Next time in 4 years, I’ll get one of those maternity sanitary pads so I don’t dribble.
lol - why is it I feel perfectly comfortable sharing that with you? 😜
And one more thing - after I had the colonoscopy, I’ve had no gastric issues - been regular. I think I just needed a complete colon cleanse! Oh and the nap is the best part! 💤
You're going to be fine. I will keep Bob and Beau in my prayers. You will fine after it is done. I had one last year. Take care and God Bless You. I too, can never turn my mind off with thoughts and believe me I have been bothering Mark for months now with all the appointments and things I am dealing with.
Linda is right in her comment, it's the best nap I've ever had. You should be back home in about 5 hours I would think. All the best.
Oh yeah- fun times! NOT! So glad I have another 3 years before I have to do that again, and I may balk when it comes time. The only bad part is the prep. By now I bet you know that. :)
We have been thinking about you since we learned of the big day and praying for a good outcome. My son had a colonoscopy today with excellent results, but all he remembers is the terrible prep. It will be done soon. Beau and Bob will be fine - we feel it in our hearts.
I am hoping you are on your way home by now. As everyone mentioned, and you probably already know, the prep IS the worse part. Hope all went well and you get a good night's sleep tonight!
Yes, the prep is nasty. As I am late catching up and it is all over with, I will be back to read your update. We worry about a lot of things before these procedures I know.
Yes, that's a lot to take in though you wrote the post funny. I believe you and your family at home will be totally fine. Go you!
Hi Sandra :)
I did both the colonoscopy and the endoscopy one after the other not long ago, and didn't feel a thing, as you won't, Honestly Sandra it will be OK, and although the prep is the worst thing you will do it just fine. The solution is about three mug's full, and if you can drink three quarters of the mixture in a mug every 10 mins, you will finish in time. I hope this helps. The rest you already know, stay near the bathroom.
