Historically, these leaves have been associated with good luck and emotional well-being. The Doctrine of Signatures, an ancient belief system, once linked the plant's appearance to its healing properties, suggesting that Pink Wood Sorrel could bolster matters of the heart. So sayeth the Google Soothsayer. May be true maybe not.
Oxalis debilis, also known as pink-wood sorrel, is the most common plant which grows as a weedy “clover” in lawns.

We have lots of pink Wood Sorrel. And also a purple Shamrock. Yours is a lovely shade; it looks almost lavender.
I am pretty sure that I have seen these around here. seems like they spread once they get started. such a beautiful color and I really like your drawing...Hope Beau wears some green today.

Your drawing is sensational. The little flower is so perfect that any uplifting legend at all would be suitable. Green beer will be flowing today at the pubs around the university campuses. Doubtless some of the students’ faces will be equally green after imbibing too much. Youth is the age of silliness!

This is our 46th First Date Anniversary. We try to do something different to celebrate it every year. Our plans are to go for a ride in the countryside. In the cage, no more 2 wheels. Eventually to end up in Douglas, Georgia, to have an early supper at Longhorn's Steakhouse. Then a leisurely drive home before dark. We don't have a nice steakhouse here and I want me some Wild West Shrimp with an adult beverage. Stay tuned to FakeBook for photos.

I can't be certain but I'm thinking I have seen this growing in my yard. My yard is more weeds than good grass. It sure is pretty. I'll have to keep my eye out for it when the weather is nicer. I love your drawing of the pink wood sorrel

I like all the varieties of oxalis - so pretty.
Such pretty little flowers! I saw these when we lived in Northern California...but haven't seen them in New Mexico, It must be too dry here.

Haven't seen the pink sorrel in our yard but we sure have enough weeds to make up for it. Now the dandilions are blooming in the sometimes grass lawn. They sure try to take over. Weather guys say to expect rain in the next hour..oh darn, that means I can't pull more weeds...(:0)

Mom used to have potted white and pink oxalis - so pretty and delicate. But now all she can find are white ones.

That was a fun post. When I was growing up my Grandpaw would give me a dime for each 4 leaf clover I found. Kept me busy all day for 20 cents LOL! Happy St. Patrick’s Day from all of us!
