Now can you guess?  Gail at the Farm said in an email "my sister Marcy brought be seeds to send to you our our big Sunflower" I did the happy dance and waited only 3 days and Bob comes in with a really big Box with 87,000 inches of tape.

I hacked my way through the tape and lifted out this gionormus thing with the back up and said LOOK! she sent the whole thing...  I thought she was sending a few seeds in an envelope.

I emailed Gail and said the seeds are here...
1. Do I have to dry this and wait for them to pop out?
2. Do I have to pry them out?

Her answer was after you manage to pry out a few of them it will get easier... HA! MadSnapper says... I did 10 and my fingers are already sore.. But don't worry Gail, I will moan and whine while doing it and Bob will feel sorry for me and say Let ME DO THAT!   Heh Heh Heh

maybe NEXT year I will bombard you with photos of My Giant Sunflowers....
Thank you Gail and Marcie, for the seeds, the fun and Blog Fodder for a POST.

I was kind of stumped but I guess some kind of seed pod so I was kind of right. Knowing the way things grow around there I'm betting these will be spectacular. I love sunflowers.

I first thought I was looking at a woven basket!
Best wishes with the seeds - a nice surprise to get in the mail!

Wonderful!!!! I had guessed pistachios all in a row. Lol After I planted sunflowers this spring, Mr. C. said, ' I hope you planted the salted in the shell variety. They're so much better!' He's so silly. Always gives me a good laugh.

Your photos are great, you should join the Flickr group, the first shot would be perfect! I thought it was some kind of tropical bark. Very cool, I can't wait to see photos of your sunflowers next year....they will be huge! Enjoy your day.

First I said wee mushrooms. Then I said a turtle.

Funny where your imagination gets one.

Oh my this is massive. Know wonder your fingers hurt. Never seen anything such as this.

Fun though and nice of Gail to surprise you. So like all of us.

Will sure like to see those giant sunflowers later

growing.

darn cool!

How cool! I guessed wrong. I thought maybe a new Macro lens. Is it coincidental that the number of inches of tape = the number of sweetener tabs you spilled?

No, I could not figure out what the mail surprise was, Sandra, and we had sunflowers! If anyone can get a giant crop, it will be Bob so we will all look forward to those sunflowers.

I thought you got a new close up lens. That seed head is very cool, I admire the big sunflowers in the garden farms that I pass.
