My Coffee Cup Sparkles

I stand at my nook each morning and do my balance exercises instead of at the kitchen sink, because it sparkles and shines and I can watch myself in the mirror and it makes me happy.
I sit my 1st cup of coffee there and by the time I am done with exercises, the cup is empty and I am able to walk without hobbling and mostly without pain.

As I took a sip I sat the cup down and for the first time ever noticed

sparkles in my coffee cup..

I am thankful for Coffee when I wake up
For the eyes and desire to see sparkles when they come
and especially thankful that last week, I went to a thrift shop to find something they did not have but I found a like new, black pair of Sketchers Go walk, exactly like the ones I wear to walk Beau, for SIX Dollars.

Clever Me! Tips for You Found in Drafts

Look what I found in my drafts, it's been there since Nov. 29, Not so Clever Me, forgot all about it.

Clever Tip 1: instant coffee I can drink. I bought this for hurricane season two years ago and we never used it. Power or no power We Gotta Have Coffee. This coffee was really good made with cold water and sugar for bob and saccharin for me. I give it a 10, with cold water, but have no idea how it taste hot. We used all the little pouches in 7 days.

Clever Tip 2: for 7 days of power outage we used two bags of ice per day, 1/2 bag in small cooler for easy access for Bob's Must have ice water. 1 and 1/2 bags in the large cooler.

I placed a small trash can that allows the ice chest lid to close, and put it under the tiny lid on top, allows for reaching in and getting what you want, and food in baggies stays dry.

I kept bottled condiments in the ice, a few cans of soda and bottled water and 2 bags worked for 24 hours.

Clever Tip 3:See the blue bowl? white tray? we knew Milton was coming. for 3 days before due date, I filled bowl and containers, and dumped ice trays all day each day and filled the freezer full of ice
Day of the storm our freezer  was jammed with homemade ice cubes and 2 burgers, loaves of bread and 2 baggies of left over spaghetti.
We woke up to the first day and no power in the entire county. Could not buy ice. The stored cubes kept the things until 2n day when we could buy ice for ice chests.

Clever tip 4: They day before the storm was expected, I put all our RX bottles of meds in the small blue chest, my name, address and phones on the outside, taped shut and they were ready to grab/and or float if we were flooded and hope to find them after the storm if we had no roof or house
In the large ice chest, I placed all important papers and anything I wanted to save, taped it shut and put our info on it in hopes it to would be found floating, or in the closet undamaged after the storm

Clever Tip 4: Clever me ordered these backpack pots/pans to sit on the grill to boil water and heat canned things.
the next morning, we fired up the grill, grilled the sausage and burger, and placed in the ice chest in the handy dandy small trash can and ate them cold on the by now thawed bread.  clever me, signing off now...
PS. the pots worked well but would be better on a small propane burner. They have handles but they are only 5 inches, and I burned myself twice trying to stir. They get hotter with lid on, but you can't see the water to see if it is boiling, and if i had it to do again, i would just forget them. I AM NOT THE CAMPER TYPE ... If we survive until next hurricane season, I will purchase a small propane burner.
PSS.. I know you are sick of hurricanes by now but I may need to refresh my memory next year.
PSSS: this could work for ice storms too

Florida Flames

this morning, weather guy says.
Sorry, today is the same as yesterday.
Hot, Humid, Uncomfortable, Oppressive, Dangerous
Again, I am warning you, your dog paws can burn in 15 seconds on our streets.
Vets are saying more burned paws are coming in.

NO RAIN! Sweltering 98 degrees humidity, it is all we can do to walk at daybreak.

Heat Advisories, warnings of ER are swamped with heat stroke victims.

Jackie's morning text message read at 2 AM, 101 degrees, I answered with it was 87 at 5 am.

I listened to Myra at Respice, Prospice and made coffee ice cubes, put in coffee and sicced my Super Bullet blender on it.. IT WORKS.. she puts coffee ice cubes in her Almond Milk, drinks it cold, I blended my cubes with Vanilla Soy milk and had frozen cappuccino. Beau gets ice cubes, he loves them.

Break Time

The coffee around here is break fluid.

Coffee has been the grounds of many a heated and strong discussion

Stealing some ones coffee is called ''mugging''

Does a coffee shop have grounds to operate in the black?

1. Me saying to Bob, usedtawarnya (they used to warn you) when you license is about to expire

2. Standing in line at Culver's, the cashier said to the man who said no to a soda, doyawannawatercup (do you want a water cup)? 3 times, he said WHAT? 3 times. finally she said Would you like water?
What she meant is they give you a cup and you get your own. I was DYING.

3. Me saying to Bob at 12:10 didneatdidja (you did not eat did you?) because I wanted to go out for lunch

4. we were leaving for the YMCA and a block down the street I said doordowndidni (I put the door down didn't I?)  meaning the garage door.
Remember we live in The Deep South...

UPDATE AT 6:24 AM today
WE ARE FINE... we had coffee in bed with wind, rain and boom flashes. This is the screen on my tablet. the tale is 200 miles out in the gulf, we will have torrential pours and flash/booms all day today while Hermine drags her tale across us.
God keep those in her path safe.
She tour up Florida's East coast 5 days ago and has beat us for 4 days, about 15 inches of rain in 3 days, 10 in one day... We are Fine...others are not.

You may be a coffee addict if this quote is YOU.
The only thing that is keeping me from hurting you is the fact that they don't serve Starbucks in Prison.

there was an estate sale on our block many years ago and I bought 4 of these pretty little on tippy toe mugs  because I liked the shape. I use it for tea that I only drink when cold in afternoon or if I feel a little under the weather.

The Mystery of Grounds in the Cup

While washing the breakfast dishes, I noticed grounds in Bob's coffee cup.
I said "Bob why are their coffee grounds in your cup, they were in there yesterday and both days  my cup has none."

"I don't know" says Bob with his 'standard' answer to 98 % of my questions.,..

"They look a little odd" she says as she runs her finger tip around the inside of the cup.
"What is this? she yells asks quietly, "it is not grounds and feel a little ucky."
Loud Laughter from in front of the TV...

"I know what it is" he says "I dunked ginger snaps in my coffee yesterday and today"
Mystery solved.
Are you a dunker? if so what do you dunk?

Coffee Drinkers, Rejoice

Photo and Info from Express news in the UK... I for one KNOW that every thing I read on the internet is true and I am going to Believe this one..

I drink 3 to 4 cups a day starting at 4 am and ending at 9 am....now I am wondering if Tea is hydrating to. OF COURSE I GOOGLED IT...

This is from Medical News Today and if you read the article you will see it is also from research in the UK....

And you all NEED to read these 7 myths on Huffington Post  the one myth i really liked is.....
If you are thirsty you are already dehydrated.... this one is True... the details to all of this have been provided in the links, JUST IN CASE some of you CARE as much as I did...
For those of you who are wondering just WHY I did the research...

The Headline... Coffee Drinkers Rejoice came in my email Breaking News... so yo have them to thank for this post.

Now I am pondering this question... Is the Unitend Kingdom MORE hydrated than we are because of all the tea they consume?

P.S..... you can file this under Believe it or NOT...

Coffee Bar is OPEN

Once upon a time  Manny Mosquito sat staring down in what he thought was and empty coffee cup, he dove in and found himself in yummy, milky and sweet sticky stuff...

while guzzling his morning coffee, along came the lady of the house  and the next thing he knew a huge tsunami of brown coffee poured on top of him filling the cup to the top...

He floated to the top and the last thing he heard before he went across the mosquito rainbow bridge was a loud Shrill SHRIEK.....

" There's a MOSQUITO in  my coffee"
the reply came
"is it dead? then dip it out and drink the coffee, it's just a mosquito"

this is a True Story with names removed to  protect the innocent and a disclaimer that this is a dramatization with the help of Photo Shop
The MadSnapper forgot to take a photo..... Woe is Me...

would you drink the coffee or pour it out?
I poured it down the drain...

Caution! Details Matter

I spent many hours looking for just the right cup for my coffee. See that Post HERE

For some reason a couple of weeks ago, I picked up my powdered creamer and READ THE DETAILS
It said 1 teaspoon 10 calories.
that doesn't sound like much, but I LOVE my coffee WHITE, and for years I have picked up this little jelly jar and dumped a pile of it in each cup.. I measured what I dumped and it was almost a tablespoon.

I drink 3 cups every day and sometime 4 if Bob doesn't drink his 3rd cup.... my calculations told me I was adding about 120 to 130 calories per day to my caloric intake.. YOWSA! now I have the little 1/2 tsp in the jar and measure 10 calories per cup, and hope to ween myself to 1/2 tsp per cup. SOMEDAY

 Details do matter.......

Macro Manual 2

I sit at the kitchen table and practice macro using Manual setting. Any and All advice Welcome. Almost but not quite.
My subject here are seed pods from Dwarf Poinciana Tree.... one of them popped and exploded seeds in my face while intently staring through the view finder. I YELPED and hubby said what was that?

I think I strained my brain playing with manual focus on the camera.
Today,
I put cheese in frying pan on stove to make egg/cheese on toast, forgot to turn on the burner. Toast was ready egg was not.
I handed Bob his pills at breakfast, he said don’t I take these at night? well duhhh
I got up from the sofa and went to get another cup of coffee, got to the pot, my coffee cup was still in the living room.

What’s UP with the brain power? and it is now only 8 AM, so who knows what will happen or not happen

Pardon Me...Please

If I missed commenting on your blog yesterday, please excuse me. I spent FOUR HOURS reading the book and playing with my NEW Canon Rebel T1i and snapping 172 photos on every setting.

My coffee got cold.... my frustration levels went past a TEN....
I snapped everything on the table in several different modes, who know what but this proves I was BUSY
I did race outside to try a close up of a limb

an avacado the squirrels ate most of and dropped on the ground and my sweet Jake

The whole problem was/is the directions for the camera are in CHINESE....I will conquer the new buttons and get better, so if you miss me, you know what I am doing.
