Backyard Plain Jane flower

This jumbled up mess of flowers resides in the top of our 20 foot tall White Bird of Paradise and The BEES and Birds LOVE this plant, and the foliage provides beauty and shade and privacy.

But the flowers are the "plain Jane" of our yard.
Below is a Bird of Paradise from Selby Gardens, you can compare and see why I call ours a Plain Jane
Just like us humans, the two flowers here are just alike on the inside and from the same family, the outside is different indeed...
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” —1 Samuel 16:7

Susan asked how much land we own. all this is on a 100x100 foot lot, we just don't like grass, and have bushes and trees everywhere.

To "wear your heart on your sleeve"  (let everyone know how you feel)

pitcher plant

One of my favorite plants at Selby is the Pitcher Plant. pitcher plants are carnivorous and feed on insects.
they fascinate me because they are so ugly they are cute.

When I look at these, I start to sing,
I'm a little teapot, short and stout, here's my handle ,here's my spout, when I get all steamed up, here me shout, tip me over and pour me out. (if you are singing and doing the actions you may have worked in day care)
I

Helen: Mum, do you know what I'm going to give you for your birthday? Mum: No, dear, what? Helen: A nice teapot. Mum: But I've got a nice teapot. Helen: No you haven't. I've just dropped it

Snapper Shots III (Selby Gardens)

Typical Shots

Snapper Shots... she is painting the trees (well, she is painting a painting of the trees) in the first two photos. I asked about the umbrellas, since it was shading the painting and not her,  she said it filters the light. OOPS! Duh! moment...

Why do the signs that say "Slow Children" have a picture of a running child?

If a "fatal" error is made with the E-mail I sent, does that mean I killed somebody?

I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory.

See you tomorrow.........

Pitcher Plant (Nepenthes pervillei)

In the rain forest at Selby Gardens, Sarasota, FL, there are many, many brilliantly colored flowers and plants. Of course, me being ME, I really like the non-brilliant Pitcher Plant.

They are so innocent looking, dozens of little and large pitchers, hanging on vines, these hanging pitchers.
this is a close up of the top to one, the mouth so to speak.

One of my favorites is the Nepenthes pervillei, a carnivorous plant, which traps prey in its pitchers.
Insects are attracted to the pitcher by a fragrant odour, but the waxy surface of the inner wall does not provide support, and the plant's victims tumble into the fluid below. A powerful digestive acid is then released from the pitcher walls, which consumes the prey

there will be some of you who are not fascinated by my picture of pitcher plants, so peruse pretty plants and enjoy.

Even the plants that do not bloom are colorful. See you Tomorrow
