πŸ’©The Doctor, the Test and the ResultsπŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©
Three months ago, I went to my doctor because my bottom was hurting so bad I could not stand to sit, lay flat was the only way to get relief. It has been doing that for a year.
I told her I feared the rectocele and a cystocele I had in 1997 had come loose because
both ends leak. πŸ™‰cover your ears

After exam she said I think you are right, I will send you to a surgeon to see what he thinks.
Enter the surgeon, who recommends colonoscopy because he says the surgery looks fine, but you have never had a colon torture and it might fix your problem, some of you know, I have been dealing with extreme IBS symptoms for a couple of years, which has worsened in the past 6 months, caused by stress. I refused every one of the dozen times I was offered the colon torture test and did the home test and every time it was negative.
I was not worried about cancer or anything but the fact I have to wear diapers, and they make me miserable, and I hurt really badly when I sit...
I had to wait 4 weeks for the appt, with the surgeon, and he advised he did not think there was a problem with the prior surgery, I just needed to do the colon thing and the down the throat thing because i have GERD and have not had one for 20 years and never had the colon thing.

I said yes. went through the torture you may have read in Why I will never have another Colonoscopy Part 1

Monday at 8 am, 2/10/2025 after waiting 2 weeks to see the doctor, they put me in the room at 8 and at 8:25 a young girl, who looks 20 but has to be at least 26, whose tag says My name is Paige, PA , rushes into the room, short of breath and says, Hi, I am Paige and sorry I am late, I was over at the hospital and could not get back here by 8. She sits down and says, give me a minute and starts to read 2 sheets of paper. She looks up and says, sorry I had to familiarize myself with your report.
Since the Doctor himself had told me he would go over the report and get me set up with probiotics and a sway to help constipation, and this is NOT the doctor, IN MY HEAD I AM Screaming WHAT???

Then reads me about 3 paragraphs of doctorspeak,  and I am getting a few words here and there.

I WILL SPARE you the reading of it.
* Lots of polyps in stomach due to meds taken for 20 years for Gerd, polyps benign
* patulous anus with poor anal sphincter tone
* yhr

She said that is about it. Doctor said even though you had a POOR PREP, Doctor advises you not have another colonoscopy! He says if you were aged 50, he would order another one. Because you are over 80, and the danger of that, this will be your last one. If you were to do another, you would stay on liquid diet 2 days because poor prep means it did not get IT all..  TMI
I started laughing and said that is a good thing because I have told everyone i can talk to that this was my first and last. NOTE: she did not ask why.

What this means is due to childbirth and a hysterectomy at age 28 and the fact I am OLD
I AM GLAD I HAD IT BECAUSE I KNOW NOW WHAT IT IS and that it can't be fixed, and am finding ways to deal with it.
These things Happen. I am posting this in the PAST and hoping no one sees it, because it was in forgotten drafts and is now a MOOT point.
This is for my records because of poor memory  which also has no cure. ha ha

I would like to know why I was not told of the danger to people over 80 before they did the torture test.

Why I will not have another Colonoscopy part 1

Morning After (Prep Day)😱😱

My body is past its expiration date, way too old to have a colonoscopy, but I did have one and will never again. Above the red dots on my graphic, show my pain points from Just Being Old. The morning after Prep Day, I could barely stand and walk and getting up and down was a real PAIN.  I had no problem with the nasty drink, at my age, a night of a thousand leg presses (get up/get down) and other things, was just too much for the joints. I am glad I did not read about the dangers of the test in older seniors.

I started the day after PREP night, already in pain.

At 1 PM they propped me on a bed made of concrete metal with 2-inch pad, with rollers. I have Arthurs-itis in tail bone, and it always hurts when lying on gurneys (think ER).

NO one, in ER, or when I have a bone scan, MRI, etc. ever believes me when I say I have a dowager hump, and I need two pillows because laying back, my head is about 5 inches from touching whatever I am laying on.

See the drawing? my head was not touching, both arms were propped on rails, one with the drip thingy needle in the top of the hand and because of pain in my bottom, I keep skootching tail bone forward to relieve pain, until soon my feet were hanging off the cart, up to the ankles, to relieve each pain, I bent knees, lowered knees.

This went on while I laid watching not one but two clocks, for FIFTY minutes, trussed and bound and propped improperly and in mortal pain. Yes, I did ask them for a 2nd pillow, they scrunched the one pillow and adjusted the bed higher which did not help at all.

At 1:55 they rolled me down a short hall, into a room that was just wide enough to hold the cart and not 1 but 4 women, poking, prodding, sticking thing on skin and one that propped me like a pretzel.
turned me on my left side which is my bad hip, bad knee and bad ankle, then pulled and twisted to prop be up with said bad legs, and said good night and I woke up at 3:08 and it was done.
The torture was not over. I tend to have opposite reactions to drugs, like steroids WIRE me and the whatever they gave me did the same thing. I hit the house running around cleaning and picking up and worked for an hour.  No nap, no rest, and hurting bones, I was wired.
But wait, it gets worse. Watching a movie until bedtime, twice my left ankle got a horrid cramp in the joint, like a Charlie horse and I had to struggle to stomp my foot. I went to bed and slept 4 hours only and woke up at 1 am and was up all day the next day until I crashed at 7:30 pm and slept 9 hours straight.
I do not intend on ever, not never, not ever having another colonoscopy
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

If you are wondering what dowagers hump is, read below. MINE is Genetic. from my maternal side. My Grandmother, her 5 sisters, my mother, her sister and all females in our family, all have the hump. Most of them are deceased and did not make it past 63. Aha! I made it to 80.

Apr 11, 2023 — A dowager's hump, a curve at the base of your neck, can cause extreme fatigue, back pain and headaches

try lying flat on you back when you look like this. Mine started in my early 20's and as I age I bend further forward
After all this, I had to wait 2 weeks for results with doctor. I went home with a paper that said
small gastric polyps
poor prep
severe pandiverticulosis...
To be continue

YAY and Double YAY

The surgeon said I do not need surgery. The 1997 horrible surgery that my doctor thought had loosened is not the problem. He said he thinks a colonoscopy will fix the problem, the problems I am having are called fecal smearing. (poopy diapers)
and he believes it is caused by chronic constipation, which might also be the cause of my IBS symptoms, and he believes that will eliminate the problem, and he also said since I have never had one, their might be a polyp blocking the colon.
He said you don't have to have anything done, it is your choice, if you want to keep being miserable. It's not going to kill you if we do nothing.
Wow!
The pain is from poop pants and can be treated with Baby Butt Desitin.
All donations of Desitin appreciated, its 8 dollars for 2 oz, which was used in one week and at Amazon  4 oz for 9 dollars.😁😁😁😁
For those of you thinking WHY has she never had a colonoscopy, its because I can't hold the poop and there is a lot of pooping going on before having one and I don't want to have to clean up the mess.
They will call me with a time for the colonoscopy and a endoscopy because my gerd has been acting up with meds, and he can do both at same time
Thank you for your
πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

What your prayers did. My fears of the surgery were overshadowed by
Fear of Traffic, the office is next to the hospital, both are in
DOWNTOWN, my dread of going there is a 10 on the Fear Scale.
They are on the 5 lane highway to the BEACHES.
See that photo up above? that is what I had to get out onto when leaving the Doctor office. there is a reason I mention this.
Your prayers opens the roads from the time I left home, I backed out of my driveway at rush hour and there was not a car coming. I drove all the way there and all the way home with very limited traffic. It was thought the road had been wiped clean of cars.
The road in that photo, when I pulled out of doc office, on to the one way 5 lanes, there were cars headed east to that light and not a car in sight in all 5 lanes. I pulled out, drove 4 blocks to the light and when I stopped all the lane behind me had filled up. I drove like that the whole way home.
I can tell you what the prayers did not do, they did not stop my BP from being way high because I suffer white coat syndrome with male doctors, and this was 2 of them, Doc and Intern. It may have worked because I did not have a stroke from having them do the exam
Thank you to all who lifted me up for help from above and Thank you Lord for the safe trip and good news..
