Ca D' Zan Private Garden

Outside the mansion there are 4 gardens, this is part of the amazing fence that encloses a small (bigger than my house) walled garden, just outside the kitchen door. Tomoorow we will visit the Rose Garden. Mable had 3 private small gardens.
The best way to garden is to put on a wide-brimmed straw hat and some old clothes. And with a hoe in one hand and a cold drink in the other, tell somebody else where to dig.
- Texas Bix Bender,

Why do potatoes make good detectives?  Because they keep their eyes peeled.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

Ca D' Zan Chandeliers

This brilliant Green chandelier hangs over the Breakfast Table
Why did the woman fix her bed to the chandelier?
Because she was a light sleeper.

A pretentious woman was showing a friend round her new home. "It's very lovely," her friend admitted, "but what you need in this big room is a chandelier." "I know, my dear," said her gracious hostess, "but nobody in the family plays one.

This one hangs in the great hall, two stories high. in this photo, you can get a feeling for the ornate ceiling and the sky light.

Ca D' Zan 5

**All Information today gathered from Ringling Resources.

Below is first floor plans, click to enlarge.

Click to enlarge. Below Photos were taken in the Great Hall, it was very dark and no flash allowed, but you can see some of what we saw.

17th Century Tapestry's hang on the wall, and 17th century Screens stand in the rooms, also paintings by famous painters are on every wall.

the hall is very large and had 5 different groups of chairs and sofas for comfort in socializing, a bit cluttered for my taste.

The ceiling is 2 stories high and The magnificent chandelier they bought from the Waldorf and placed in their home. It looks small but is immense. the balcony runs around three sides of the hall and the bedrooms open on to the balcony. The ceiling is painted, I was unable to get a good photo of it.

The Aeolian organ cost the Ringling's 550,000. It is said the whole residence resounds with its rich tones. There are hundreds of pipes concealed behind tapestries, in balcony walls. it can be played manually or electrically.

This portrait of Mable Ringling hangs in the Great Hall. I liked picturing the women dressed as flappers in this wonderful place.

Ca D' Zan 4

We entered the house through the grand ball room, when I stepped in the maginficent room, this is the first photo I snapped. Every 10 foot tall Sconce in the room, was decorated with greenery and a Mask, even the wall scones.

Above is my devilish  mask as I MadlySnapped almost every Mask in the room and then there was the Christmas tree covered in Mask. (below photos were on the tree)
I googled and googled until my head hurt and found nothing that say why, when they used mask to decorate with. Maybe because they were Circus Family and these are Court Jester Mask and that translates in 2011 to clowns.

Above Mask is MadSnapper as she snapped all these mask, and the second side is YOU dear Readers, saying Enough Already with the Mask. The end.
OOPS! not quite the end, one more thing......

Corny Joke of the Day.

I believe I will be able to run my car on politicians promises but I'm having trouble with the fool injection system.

The End for NOW
