Nature Friday on Halloween

Today is Halloween and these are just here for the "BOOS"

Our golden rain tree used to be three times this size, this is from my front porch. It has blooms on it now. a third of the tree was cut off to take down a rotted tree that partially fell on our roof a few years ago. First time it has bloomed since then.

Golden Rain Tree, which is known for its showy flowers and distinctive papery seed pods. The scientific name for this tree is Koelreuteria elegans or Koelreuteria paniculata.

Last but not least Mama Cuban Tree Frog, was guarding the pool pump when I went to pump it... she is about 3 to 4 inches long and can hop way high and far..

Frog in my sink

While reaching for my toothbrush at early dawn, by the light of the green night light above, which before daylight gives a mysterious green sheen to all things, a Cuban tree frog suddenly leaped into the sink.

I might have squealed, because Bob said from the bed, What Is It?  I started to giggle. and Said a tree frog is in the sink, and ran for the cell phone.

What I saw!
What it Was!

The red FROG is a make-up sponge, that lives on top of the jar of wrinkle cream,
 under the toothbrush holder.
I have a zillion photos of these frogs because we have a zillion of them. I used one of my old photos to show you what I thought I saw...Label Cuban Tree Frogs

this post is for Caturday art, which is why I FORCED MYSELF to say these words to Bing AI.

cuban tree frog, in bathroom sink, illustration, colors white and green

I AM IMPRESSED! He/she/it gave me just what I asked for. I did not ask for a red make up sponge, but might.
IF YOU BROWSE the Label, AI did a superb job of drawing one.

these last two are my favorites, do you have a favorite? would you scream if one of these jumped onto you bare chest from the sliding glass door?
It happened and I did Screen.

Freddy is Back

One Frog, edit in Beta PicMonkey. The New PM is coming soon

I first met Freddy Frog of the Cuban Tree Frog tribe, about the first week of June, 2018.. He was busy making babies. Here he is in water and in his bucket... Please enlarge the below photo and tell me those are the cues ever little sucky feet... and how about those EYES....

The first gang of tadpoles were laid in May and within 4 weeks were tiny frogs.
The tadpoles now are 5 or 6 weeks and show no sign of growing legs. I checked with Google Girl and She said. they can take up to 16 weeks to turn in to frogs, depending on the type. Well Freddy is responsible for both sets.. so what does that mean?

If he wants more children he will have to find a new girlfriend, Mama leaped from the shovel right into Jakeosaurus mouth while I Screamed NO JAKE NO.... she had a proper burial.

if you like frogs, check out the ones I want NEXT...  HERE

He leaped from the bucket to hide in the leaves but it did him not one whit of good!

MAMA Frog was back and 87 million tadpoles..it has rained every day for a week.

Shades of Bobby Darin started playing in my head..
Well, how was I to know there was a party going on?
Bing bang, I saw the whole gang dancin' swimming on in my livin' room rug rain barrel (yeah)
Flip flop, they were doin' the bop, all the teens tadpoles had the dancin' bug
There was Lollipop with Peggy Sue
Good golly, Miss Molly was a even there too
A well a splish splash, I forgot about the bath
I went and put my dancing shoes on
I was a splishin' and a splashin', I was rollin' and a strollin'
I was a movin' and a groovin', I was a reelin' with the feelin'

Mama at the bottom of our watering pitcher.. that is how bob found her, he was about to water my wildflowers
I thought I had lost my Southern accent but after listening to these short videos. NOPE! did not
Mama is now Peggy Sue.. isn't she adorable???

MOVIES WITH MY voice on them, they look strange but they work. Had problems with YouTube so uploaded from phone video.

Location Location Location

In a prior post you met Liam Lizard, resident of my zebra striped bathing suit condo. Sunday, I noticed he was on the wall luring Lina Lizard into his Lair.. I decided to swap the polka dot condo suit and see if he would move into it. Above you will notice, the white straps of the suit, suited him just fine. It appeared it was Location! Location! Location! and not the stripes, he loved the dots.

As I grabbed the striped suit, I held it open to check for other Lizards and started to shriek at Bob who was in the pool, LOOK! LOOK AT THIS!   What to my wondering eyes had appeared????

NOT ONE BUT Two friends had moved into Liam's Condo turning it into a TIMESHARE!!!

Can you see him now???? I have played for two days with these two frogs who took up residence in the Zebra Stripe Timeshare....

I believe they are two of the tadpoles grown up... and Monday AM I found they are female and male because they were on the ledge of the window making whoopee and at 4 AM I had to stand guard to protect them from the Jakeosaurus dog that was hunting them... After the sun came up they are GONE, but will be back when it rains again. The two of them stayed inside the suit all day Sunday.

I got these photos by jiggling the suit gently to make them crawl up and out in the sunshine... are they adorable or what?

He or She was highly indignant that I the MadSnapper was causing earthquakes to shake their time share.

Sorry for the Quality, all my phone could do

I Overheard a tadpole say  "I want to be a tuna when I grow up"

Another replied " Tough! you're gonna be a frog, a Cuban Tree Frog in fact"

"You will be part Cuban and a Tad-polish..." another one said... HEH HEH HEH

Oaky Croaky! this is The End... until it is NOT!!!!

After watching the below "MOVIE" let me know  if you think I have a career in writing screen plays"

Who Let The Frogs Out? part 2

Collages by MadSnapper and PicMonkey
What else can I do with FORTY FOTOS of FROGS?

Cuban tree fogs size from 1.5 inches to 5 inches. The male is smaller, much smaller than the female.
The Cuban treefrog, Osteopilus septentrionalis (Figure 1), is native to Cuba, the Isle of Youth (an island province of Cuba also known as Isle of Pines), the Cayman Islands, and the Bahamas

I use a lot of puns, or so I have been toad...sooooo I will just ask you this.

What do you call a lying frog?  An Amfibian...

Do you know why frogs are so happy? They eat whatever bugs them.

This is a decent post, even though it may not be ribbitting...

can you find 3 frogs?

Who Let The Frogs Out??

Who let the frogs out?   A Tale of A Three Frog Night!

It all started when the drought broke and we GOT RAIN! Inches of Rain!
The Rain Barrel Over Floweth Type Rain

Picture this! I wake up to the LOUD call of a Cuban Tree frog. It' is 2:45 AM. The rain is beating on the roof like a drum, the back up singers are NOT harmonizing.   The Rain Barrel is under the bedroom and kitchen window. We are getting Stereo Singing.... Even Bob Could Hear This!

The first photo is all I could seen in the dark..... I recorded the NOISE but can't figure out how to get a voice recording on here. TRUST ME! It could easily wake the dead..

I had to wait for the sun to come up because ALL 20 of the photos taken in the dark are to dark to see.  Never Fear, MadSnapper is HERE... The Tale is this.

One Male Frog had found his lady. The other male frog was jealous. I know this because all 3 were screeching, but there was also a tapping sound, like a clicker makes when training a dog.

This went on for SEVEN hours... every hour or so I ran out to take another picture. The lonely male would jump towards the Loving Couple. Each time the male of the couple would make his sides go in and out and make a clicking noise.

I watched as the Loving Couple jumped, from side of barrel to cup, cup to barrel, dove to the bottom to get away from my clicking camera, back to the bucket. the lone male chasing them. I kid you not this went on for 7 solid hours.
