I am NOT a glass half full person

 


Above is a comment from David on my post yesterday.

Yes, I can, and I did and have for 12 long weeks, shocked the pool once a day to keep the water safe for bob. In Florida, algae have to be vacuumized out daily even with shock. Bob has been unable to do that for 3 months now. The tester shows the water is perfect and it is but the bottom and sides you can see the algae that clings.

Addressing the comment that I am certainly a glass half full person. NOPE! Not me at all. Born pessimistic daughter of a pessimistic dad. The past year has been unbearable! I have been fighting depression and doing physical work i have never done in my life. I found I was spiraling into a deep hole. Crying while walking Beau, crying in Walmart while hopping. We will skip the details now. I will share what I am doing to drag myself up, in a later post. 

I am making a choice to follow this verse, Philippians 4:8 NIV

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Below is my story about

The mourning Doves that made my Day, I popped the doves in from a free photo in picmonkey to the green pool. No we don't have giants, I did that.

Our backyard Sahara from 5 years of drought and a vicious storm, is soaked! 4 inches of rain in 3 days, yesterday it rained for 10 hours, which is a record for Florida weather.

The rain has everything Green, and I can SEE it growing.


Bob spent his 30 minutes in the pool yesterday sitting on the steps staring at the new green growth.



The rain came, and our yard is full of birds, I stand in my door and watch them, rushing about, flying and fighting, and doing their spring flings. ha ha

The birds are ecstatic at the buffet all the rain brought. I had watched the mama bird pecking away at the deck that is covered in all kinds of bugs and small seeds/blooms. The lizards love it too. 

Mama was madly pecking, and I moved inside the sliding glass door to enjoy her antics. I just stood watching. 

Suddenly, A blur of wings lit beside her, it was her baby. She tapped the baby with her beak and started to peck, the baby picked up the beat and they were rushing around grazing on the buffet. The mama flew into the seagrape and the baby's expression was priceless, shocked and where is my mama?

Watching the two of them, my heart sang, and the hairs stood up when goosebumps ran up my arms.

Doves are so sweet and kind and gentle and so easily harmed because they are unafraid of humans. In fact, Beau had flushed a covey of 5 out of the grass two days before and there she was teaching the baby to eat.

As I stood enjoying the show, 2 black birds came, then there were 4, and 5 and the tree filled up, the mama ran and attacked one bird and then another. the ground filled with black birds, and I opened the door and walked towards them, and they all scattered to the winds. I came in to tell bob the story and I hope the baby survived. Later on, I saw a black bird, fly with mouth full and give it to a baby black bird. 

My world is sliding off its axel, and I intend to keep trying to SEE the good, the joy, of nature that God gives us to soothe our hurting hearts.
