Bishop Animal Shelter (SPCA) is 40 wooded and very beautiful acres and is funded by a trust fund left by the Bishops. It is a no kill shelter dogs, cats, fowl and a few other small animals.
The gates are only during certain hours and are guard by two stone statues.
The sad part is the animal turn in sign, I always want to cry. But below is the wonderful shelter the animals live in. They are still in kennels, but if you enlarge you can see that both sides have screen porches and the animals are all exercised every day.
Above is the pond where the geese live along with a few raccoon and possums. Once I watched a racoon, open the gate, go inside and go down to the pond to wash his food. this was BEFORE my camera addiction started. the rest of these photos are the trees around the pond. If you enlarge above you can see the pink Spoonbill on the bird house...
We rescued our beloved Cooper, who has gone over the rainbow bridge, at this shelter. He had been there for a year because he was 7 years old and no one wanted him. We did. Click here to see Cooper
