TS Storm Idalia hurricane

Hurricane Idalia August 30, 2023 

Our 3rd September Hurricane since 2017. She came fast and furious and was gone leaving a lot of flooding. These photos are from our news channel, it is in Sarasota, 10 miles from us. Sarasota/Bradenton is like one large city, you never know when you leave one and are in the other unless you happen to see a sign. Most of the damage was flooding, from the bottom of the state to the top, along what is Called the Suncoast, West coast of Florida. We are in the central part of the state.

We are thankful we had no-cost/no-damage from Idalia. I even got 5 hours of sleep. the other two storms I did not sleep for 24 hours straight.

Many others suffered from major flooding.

 Hurricane Irma September 10/20/17

The major hurricane made landfall near Marco Island in southwest Florida around 3 pm EDT on September 10th, as a category-3 storm with 115 MPH. Naples, Florida reported a peak wind gust of 142 MPH. Irma moved quickly northward, just inland from the west coast of Florida on September 10 and 11.

 IRMA damage HERE...... the worst part of this, 3 weeks after the storm bob had a stroke and had to have carotid surgery.

Hurricane Ian September 28, 2022, this one cost us $3000.00 out of pocket for damages and was the most expensive of them all. we lost half of the avocado tree and had to have a new garage door

Hurricane Ian, one of the most powerful storms ever to hit the U.S., made landfall on Florida's Gulf Coast on September 28. Ian's 150 mph winds and heavy rains knocked out power for 2.6 million residents and caused $12.6 billion in insured losses.   

The Wolf At The Door

 

The Wolf at the Door is named Idalia. She came and is still battering our state. She has passed us and we are safe and sound. Lots of flooding, and winds to 67 for us, but for other parts they are not so lucky.

I have been up since 1 am when the wind noise woke me up, once I hear that I am up until it quits.

We still have wind gusts and downpours, and they will continue until evening, but the worst is gone, and we are good. Idalia is snarling across the panhandle at this moment leaving much destruction behind. 

Have received text from my son and his wife and my local cousins that all are good too.

We are under further flood watches for the next 24 hours because of high tides and the storm pushing the water higher and higher. This will not touch us but will a lot of others.

I asked AI to create the wolf and the storm and then combined them. I chose wolf because it comes snarling out of nowhere and rips and ravages and runs away leaving destruction behind.

Prayers for those in her path today, I have family and friends in that path.

Idalia is coming, we are in the cone, the 2nd photo is our downtown area, which is in the evac route A, the first to be evacuated. Route A is now under mandatory evacuation. We are in Route D so no leaving for us. 

This is to let you know if we don't show up, we are either without power or without a home or blown away. The auto post for Tuesday and Wed have been pulled. If I can you will see a post, if there is no post on Wednesday, your guess is as good as mine..

we can't say we did not have enough warnings, starting at 11 am today, all phone, computers, emails, and TV are bombarding us with WARNINGS.
