My Walk in Visit to Doctor during Time out

Monday Morning, the morn after Beau was sick all night, I woke up with my earlobe swollen twice its size, pierced earring hole (not used in 5 years) bleeding and red, and after I got through with the walk in visit to the vet for Beau I went to my Primary as a Walk in.

PA Jennifer, diagnosed infection, gave me choice of topical cream or antibiotics by mouth, or both. I chose the cream and said if it doesn't work I will call   you.

As she left she said, the nurse will be right in to break you out of here and left closing me in the windowless closet they call an exam room.

EIGHTEEN minutes into wait, I pulled open the door to the cell, and staring at 8 closed doors, waited with my arms crossed over my chest looking, well, angry.

Finally the Door opens across from me and a Doctor steps out, says, Can I help you Mam?  I replied, with my story and said I think nurse forgot me. He walked to 3rd door down where I could hear talking and laughter, and came back out trailed by Nurse who did, forget me.

this meant it was the PA who forgot to tell the nurse to order only cream, I am allergic to ointment, but this worked well, because when I picked up my RX they handed me Both Cream which turned out to be Ointment and BM antibiotics.

Yay! I forgot to tell her I thought I had a sinus infection, so the mistake gave me 7 days of pills. I used the ointment which made it itch but due to the mistakes I got the pills...

PLUS I found out while waiting in closet, that Amazon tracks me reading my books. when I found the screen shots you see at the top of post and the blue days mean the days I read..

You can see by all that blue that I rarely miss a day of reading. It's my escape from Henny Penny talking in my head. When I read or draw, Henny Penny is quiet.

Generation 10 is HERE

I'm so HAPPY! Generation 10 is HERE! In my House! In my hands!  I bought a new Kindle. My current Kindle is 5 years old and twice in the past week, while reading, the page FROZE, it would not move! I did a restart and it worked fine. The 2nd time I said to Bob, I am going to order a new one, because use don't want to be around me if my Kindle doesn't work!  He agreed quickly. It came over night! YAY!   I love Amazon! I love Kindles!

I have always chosen Reading over any other entertainment, starting when I could hardly hold a book!

Do you have a device of any kind you can't live without? Or something NOT a device you must have?

For the tales of my love affair with  Kindles, there are Prior Posts HERE  This one is Sandra's 4th Kindle, so says my account on Amazon!

Reaching for Reacher...

2 years with my Kindle Paperwhite e-reader, and I have read only two books that were NOT in my Kindle.

One of my favorite authors is Lee Child, having read all 17 of the Jack Reacher series last Sept. I received notice the new Reacher book number 18, Personal, was out.  The library had no Kindle copy, but they did have one copy of Large Print, which is all I can read these days. I put my name on the hold list and was # 75.. This past week I received a call my book was ready for pickup.

Things I learned while reading a printed book
.
It takes 74 people five months to read one book... (Write that down, so you don't forget it...)

A book that is  9 x 7 in size and 2 inches thick requires 2 hands to hold it. (Kindle is 1/4 inch thick and almost weightless and can be held in one hand).

That same book is awkward to hold while reading through progressive tri-focals. (Kindle fits right under my double chins, easy to see)

The book caused my arthritis to  HURT in fingers, wrists, shoulder and elbows, ( I can read for 4 hours at one time with the Kindle, the book required frequent rest breaks),

CONCLUSION? when number 19 comes out, I will have to buy the book.

Do you have a favorite author that you have read every book they wrote? I have many.

PS... I had to DRIVE to the library, 4 miles of TRAFFIC with many traffic signals plus the GAS it cost me.

Gadgets Yada Yada Yada

Kindle Gadget

I LOVE LOVE LOVE MY KINDLE and thanks to Rose at Pics and Pieces who emailed me links for free books, I am madly browsing and downloading free books. I bought a cover for it, thanks to Mildred at Maple Lane who emailed me a link for that. (the PROBLEM IS, every day the newsletter comes and I find a book I just HAVE to read, and this thing only holds 1400 books.. I now have 7 of my own and 1 library)

Shocker was when I saw the bar on the bottom of the page saying 75 % read, I looked to see how many pages were left and it said 3324 of 4431... YIKES I am reading a book that has 4431 pages?   just think if this was printed ,I would not be able to hold it.

Flash drives, better known as portable life savers. Just plug it in and add your word docs, spread sheets, photos and take it where you want it, plug and play.

We keep all our important papers in a silver box that we are to grab if we have to flee the house because of fire, famine, flood or storms. it is heavy.

I took photos of every single thing in the house, just snap snap snap and put them in a folder named HOUSE PICS (original don't you think?).
I keep the flash drive with all the pics and papers in the silver box and that way we will have  a record of everything.
The best place to keep this would be a safety deposit box. If your house was demolished would you remember everything that was in it?
NO CHARGE FOR THIS INFO, It is FREE from ME to YOU.

Do you use flash drives or gadgets? what kind and for what? I might find one I don't have yet.

Gadgets Galore Part 2

Diane petting her kayak?

My new Kindle arrived Via Kayak... or so I said yesterday, Actually it came in a truck carrying two kayaks.

My friend, Diane  emailed that she had won a Kindle and since she has a Kindle and a KindleFire she wanted to give me the Kindle, IF I wanted it.... She said she and Patricia were going kayaking at Robinson Preserve Saturday AM and she would drop the Kindle off at my house on the way home. About 1 pm.

Hankies in the wind

What? I have to wait all day to get the Kindle? How about if I meet you there and document The Launch?

Two Tough Cookies

She made me swear I would NOT take any photos of thighs, legs, stomach, and promise to post only flattering pics. SOOOO. I said that means everything is off limits but ankles and feet?

Sorry Guys, you know MadSnapper cannot snap one snapshot! or even POST just one or two.

Patricia Paddles Prettily

I snapped all these photos and went home to FIGHT with the KINDLE... it almost WON but after a few choice words thoughts about people who invent gadgets, I conquered it and downloaded my first library book.

They left me standing on the shore, camera in hand, and I had NOTHING TO DO....Nada, Nothing!

so can you guess what I did??? huh? can you?? huh? huh?

to be continued     I LOVE MY KINDLE.....already borrowed two books from the library from my chair. no gas used, no traffic, and I ordered then in my night gown, so no dressing either.....
