Ringling Minature Circus Come On In

The miniature circus contains 8 main tents,
152 wagons, 1300 performers and workers,
800 animals and a 57 car train.
Plus many tiny little visitors and there cars and trucks.

It occupies 3800 square feet in Tibbals Learning Center

Here is the entrance, drive that sweet little truck right on in.

Look at the ceiling and you can see it is two stories high and imagine this giagantic miniature circus, this is the main entrance to the tiny circus and is crowded with perfect tiny people

The museum contains Howard Brothers Circus Model

The “largest miniature circus in the world” was created over a 50-year time span by master model builder and philanthropist Howard C. Tibbals of Tennessee and Florida.

the first thing we saw when we stepped in the door was this little train racing along the tracks pulling a circus train. before I could click my camera,  it went from daylight to nightfall. we found at intervals the whole circus cycles from day to night.

Minatures are 1/4 to a foot scale (this means tiny to me, not a clue what it really means)

“Toss your hat into the ring” came from the Circus in 1916, when President

Wilson tossed his hat into the center ring to show he’d run again.

“Hold your horses” comes from the old Circus street parade days, when the locals were warned to “hold their horses” because the elephants scared them.

“Get on the bandwagon” comes from a presidential candidate’s visit to the Circus. The candidate? Zachary Taylor in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1848.

Ringling Circus Museum - Private Rail Car

Inside the museum is The Wisconsin,  the private Rail car of John and Mable Ringling built in 1905. John Ringling was a railroad man and he and Mable traveled in style all over the country.

Why is the railroad angry? Because people are always crossing it!

Why can't the engineer be electrocuted? Because he's not a conductor!

 The inside to the train was like stepping into a home. Bathroom with full size clawfoot tub. The rooms were amazing, but due to extreme low light, these fuzzy shots are all I could get.

Car is 79 feet long 14 ft. high, 10 feet wide, named Wisconsin after the state the circus lived in. It has Living room, bathroom, office and bedroom on this car Below is the bar in the office.

An elephant's opinion carries a lot of weight.

All of these animals were created in the shop at the museum.This is a camel that is a work in progress, could not get close enough to get a better shot in low light. They use small pieces of wood to create each animal, piece by piece, that is all I know.
