Sunflowers!

We saw the above Mexican Sunflower on our Sunday Ride with Beau, before the sun was up.

from my archives from 2009 show how Mexican Sunflowers look in sunshine

then wonder of wonders, I found these beauties below while coming home from eating lunch out on Thursday, and they are only a couple of blocks from where Beau and I walk.

maybe 50 beautiful Sunflowers, some as tall as 10 feet. Which do you like best? Mexican Bush of flowers or tall stately sunflowers?

Sunflower Make Me Happy

On the way home from our Sunday visit to Bray Park, the sunbeams pointed out these Sunflowers that were shouting Sunshine and Sunflowers makes me happy. My labels show 12 post with sunflowers

I grabbed these shooting out the driver side window

Without the sunbeam on the top of the flowers I might have missed these

What's your view?

In a discussion with Ann of SnapEditScrap! about her autumn decorations, I asked if she added any to her bathroom. Yes, she did but  I can't remember what she said.
My answer is I decorate for no season except Christmas.
This made me think about what is on my walls.
Very Little, Linda Chapman. I know this will make you Crazy.

This is the View From My Throne!
The only thing decorative besides shower curtain in the room.
I love monotones, there are 4 colors of green with a little gold in the shower curtain that is 3 shades of green.
Those hangers at the top I forgot to remove are my special dryers for things I don't want in the dryer.
You know, bras and things.

Village of the Arts 2021

HEADS UP for you.

twice this past week, I have received phone calls from 2 people saying they received a call from my home phone number to their cell phone. We made no calls.

I researched and this is called spoofing. I went to this site to read up on it and that led me to report this to the FCC HERE that someone is spoofing my phone number. It will not stop it from happening but will make a record that you reported it, in case someone does something illegal using your phone number. The only way to stop is change phone number. NOT for me

More Aqua Houses, have appeared in the Village.

We want the truck and the sunflowers... I could not get a better shot of the truck, without getting out of the car! Maybe when the sun is shining I will give it a try.

Surprise Answers from yesterday POST

The photo yesterday was a closeup of my new Sunflower Oil. I got the TIPS
from Myra at Respice, Prospice, to use sunflower oil on my leather like skin.

Surprise is all these photos were taken with phone, the collage above was made with Phone software.
Collages below made with photoscape x and I saw the app for using it on my phone but have not YET.
I needed collage because I loved ALL 87 thousand photos.
Can you or Do you, have PHUN like this with a single bottle of Sunflower OIL???

Above and below edits done with cell phone software.....

Plus! Big Surprise and some of you will CARE, PicMonkey now works on android phones.
Or if you are lucky and own Apple phones it works there also.

See??? screen print of my phone, it has Blogger AND PicMonkey on it. I made need a new phone or battery or both sooner than later.
I added the hearts to the screen print using picmonkey after I tooke the pic with phone and uploaded the whole shebang with Blogger App... Rosy, does this count as Nature Friday because it is from a Bunch of Sunflowers...

Now can you guess?  Gail at the Farm said in an email "my sister Marcy brought be seeds to send to you our our big Sunflower" I did the happy dance and waited only 3 days and Bob comes in with a really big Box with 87,000 inches of tape.

I hacked my way through the tape and lifted out this gionormus thing with the back up and said LOOK! she sent the whole thing...  I thought she was sending a few seeds in an envelope.

I emailed Gail and said the seeds are here...
1. Do I have to dry this and wait for them to pop out?
2. Do I have to pry them out?

Her answer was after you manage to pry out a few of them it will get easier... HA! MadSnapper says... I did 10 and my fingers are already sore.. But don't worry Gail, I will moan and whine while doing it and Bob will feel sorry for me and say Let ME DO THAT!   Heh Heh Heh

maybe NEXT year I will bombard you with photos of My Giant Sunflowers....
Thank you Gail and Marcie, for the seeds, the fun and Blog Fodder for a POST.

Sunflower 'leftovers'

Proof Positive Old Age CAN be Beautiful...

My skin droops
My eyelids sag
My tummy hangs down
Everything is round.
Wrinkles abound.
I AM BEAUTIFUL just like this his declining flower

“As long as I am breathing, in my eyes, I am just beginning.”
Criss Jami, Killosophy

“It’s [old age] not a surprise, we knew it was coming – make the most of it. So you may not be as fast on your feet, and the image in your mirror may be a little disappointing, but if you are still functioning and not in pain, gratitude should be the name of the game.”

The Music of Sunflowers

Last weeks sunflower has been fun to watch as it closed it's petals...it appears to be dancing
to see what it looked like open HERE

The odd thing is, the second flower on same stem, is the one below. the first one had 16 petals, this one has only 5. And the center is totally different.. same plant, and only 4 inches from the big one.
Strange...
But I did have fun because Bob the Photo Bomber kept appearing in my pics, he is in all three in this collage, can you find the bomber?

Caterpillar Tale

Once upon a time, there was a tiny caterpillar, green and oh so cute. He had little short sucky feet, that grasped the flower petals and two big eyes, and tiny jaws that devoured yellow flower petals at an alamring speed.

He grew and grew and grew, and like Jack, he climbed the big tall bean sunflower stalk, munching his way towards the top." Oh, Look!" said MadSnapper "Another caterpillar... Isn't he adorable? " Why don't we just leave him and see how fast he can eat that whole big flower?"

"NO!" bellowed Bob the Giant Caterpillar Killer!  MadSnapper came inside and left  the mean old  Giant Caterpillar Killer to do his dastardly deed...

and this is a True story, I did want to let him eat the flower....we formed a relationship as I madly snapped 27 pics of him munching merrily along. I had decided to name him/her Catty Caterpillar....

The Arkansas Sunflower that Almost Wasn't

Do you see anything wrong with this pic? the size of the caterpillar 3/4 of an inch and the size of thin spaghetti

I complained to Bobby Appleseed that the sunflowers he planted for me, that Gail mailed to me 2 years ago, the ones that sat in the garage waiting to be planted,  were about to bloom but the leaves were disappearing every day. One whole plant, nothing left but a stem. I could find nothing.

( if you are thinking why didn't she plant them herself, the reason is I have a black thumb, any seed or plant I touch dies)

I had taken several photos of the buds and finally one partially opened and I snapped a few shots and

Screamed, Really I did, yell very loudly.. (because he never listens)

I TOLD YOU SOMETHING WAS EATING THE PLANTS.  He climbs out of the pool and says What? Where? holding out the camera I said What do you SEE???

The unlucky caterpillar is now demised and the one flower is open.. with two more on the way. Thank You Gail for the seed, but did you send that worm with them?

Sunflowers! God's Smiley Faces

I finally found a field of sunflowers. We drove 45 miles in traffic for me to take these photos. Who knew we had a sunflower farm that close?

and I wandered for many hours

April Fool!!!!!    I was in the Wal-Mart Parking Lot.
