While the sky was doing this to the West, I was North doing this

and eating grass by the bale, we got 2 nights of rain, totally 1 inch. Grass is popping up.

so I could do this. Mama says apologies, but she has never seen anything like what I was throwing up. the first one was bigger than a dinner plate and nothing but grass and foaming bubbles.

This was my last one. Mama and I paced exactly 4 hours, March 12th, in the evening from 4:30 to 8:30 pm I did my last throw up and one big nasty poop. Mama and I were exhausted, and slept until 4:38. 

Then AGAIN on the evening of March 18th, 4 pm to 7:30pm, and then we all slept all night. Vet and I have no idea what this is, it is escalating. From every 2 months to Once a month, then to every  7 to 10 days and this  time only 6 days apart.

I am on 3 RX, Mama watched me every step I take. it is the same every time, pace for an hour, drooling and trying to throw up, then a huge throw up, more pacing and it was bloody diarrhea, but these last two times no blood, just one loose BM.

I am fine between episodes, play like a puppy, sleep like a lamb.

I was  sick, 2 nights in a row.. I threw up twice and paced 4 hours from, 9 pm to 1:30 am Tuesday and Wednesday had diarrhea with poo and rivulets of blood in it from 3:15 am to 9 am. I get really sick and Mama spends hours with me, holding, petting, hugging and following around the yard in the dark with 38 degrees. She wraps up like a mummy. It was so cold my ears were cold, and she wrapped my head in a baby blanket. 

Wed. Morning daddy fell, walking back to bed from breakfast with walker. PT came that day and cleared him, nothing broken. 

Mama went to her doctor Monday for 30 day check up on her new wonder drug, Lexapro and was changed from Lexapro to Zoloft because of one side effect. its been CRAZY-er because Mama took one Zoloft and fell back to where she was before all this started. She could not sleep, was wired, like on steroids, anxious, she yelled at daddy and me,  she was angry. She did not take a 2nd pill.

She called the doctor next day and said she stopped the Zoloft, and the doc sent a new prescription of the first drug.

Today at lunch, Mama said to Daddy from the kitchen where she was serving up his spaghetti, what do you want to drink, 7-UP or Gator-aid?

He did not answer. Just stared at the news he was watching.

Mama said in a LOUD VOICE

7-UP     OR   GATOR-AID?

Daddy said, Did you take that new pill? Your  yelling at me.

Mama said, there are things pills can't fix, answer me when I ask you a question.

Are you picking up what I am putting down?

We are Fine, we missed you

 I am sandwiched between my daddy

And My Mama, she has me as her screen saver on her laptop, and I am laying between her and Daddy. This is my happy place, when both are sitting beside me, I can sleep and know if anyone leaves the room, like say a trip to the kitchen,

Dan and Michelle are Cat and Dog lovers, above is a screen shot   of feral just born and grown up. They have 3 cats and a Mastiff inside and 6 feral, that don't know they are feral, except they don't like going inside.

This is Bandit, small female, and is full grown. 

she was feral, now is indoor only, and they found a home for the kitten, and it has been raised indoors. 

At Beaus early AM animal emergency hospital visit, I was left alone while they doctored him. I was ecstatic to see they have a Cat Lobby, No dogs allowed. I have never seen this before.

The lobby was not their the last time we went over a year ago. they did a remodel in that year, I probably paid for the cat room. ha ha

Mama took this on Nov 15,2025 I was half starved, I got sick  on Nov 12 and she SAID the VET no food for 24 hours, then said Rice and Pumpkin 24 hours, add RX can food to it for the next 24 hour and this is how you look after nearly starving for 72 hour of RICE. yesterday I had 3 meals of 6 pieces of dry dog food and RICE

Today I got Real Dry Dog Food mixed with RICE, 1/2 cup of each and to prove I was happy and the vet would approve, when she took daddy out to sit in the sun, she lost track of me and ran yelling Beau where are  you, (she may have thought I might be pooping and eating it)

I had found a sun puddle and put my front half in the sun and butt in the shade.

I heard Mama say, there you are, I thought you were up to mischief, can I get a Sunday Selfie?

Will this do Mama? if you stop now I will forgive you for all the Rice.
Yes, I do feel 1000 times better today and are you going to tell them you may have sent texts and emails to a few friend stating I did a perfect 10 on the  poop scale? Oops! I knew you wanted them to know, please don't show it to them and I want tell them that you took the perfect 10 inside to daddy's hospital bed to show it to him. OOPS I did not know you don't tell that on a blog.
PS I will mention we all get  2 nights of sleep.

Up Date on Beau and Bob

 

hunting for grass, always know he is sick when he starts this

Starting at 3 pm on Wed 11/12/25 Beau was pacing until 9:15 pm, vomit/diarrhea, slept until 3 am on Thursday, and a repeat of day before. That and Dermatologist visit is the reason I was MIA. 

This is the 4th time this has happened, since New Years Eve. It starts with pacing, eating grass and I know its going to last about 8 hours at least. I follow him step by step, we both get exhausted. There is very little grass because drought came back. Photos are of him hunting for grass.

Beau had nothing but rice to eat all day yesterday, I gave him sticky rice, 4 bites 5 times yesterday. his last episode was about 5 am yesterday 11/13/25, just gave him rice with his gabapentin, vet said stop meds except for that one. he said for a few days give him rice and let his stomach heal from whatever is causing this. He admitted he doesn't know what is causing it. we could spend a few thousand for testing like they do for humans, he thinks it is digestive somewhere but no way to tell without tests. we will not be doing that.

Our Transport guy took us to dermatologist and results are:

biopsy not skin cancer

biopsy of hive, caused by allergic reaction to some kind of drug..(we knew this)

he still has a rash, can't have more prednisone, can take up to 4 of the Allegra a day, rub Sarna lotion on the rash.

We were picked up by our favorite driver and brought home and were back home in 50 minutes and the beau was fine when we got back.

That is all, the day flew by. We were exhausted, Bob was asleep and had been since 4:40 and at 6:30 we went to bed and slept until 3:15, with 2 potty breaks so feeling better this morning.

This morning I gave Beau 1 spoon pure pumpkin, 1 spoon RX can dog food, on 1/4 cup of rice and we await the results of eating that to make adjustments to diet.vet said 48 hours of mostly rice. His stomach is still not right because he is letting those Stink Bombs off.... if you have a dog you will know that smell.

Mama's Short Version Is. Beau is fine, doing really well. Nobody Panic! I can handle that part.

The ER visit on Dec 31, 2024, showed odd markers on Beaus tests.

Due to Beaus extreme hunger and eating any and all things he finds and drinking of excessive water, about 9 cups a day, The vet wants to do tests for Cushing's Disease, Very EXPENSIVE tests, and if Cushing's disease found, expensive, visits, drugs with bad side effects and many visits to vet.  

We decided to refuse the tests, since we do not intend to take the drugs and since we would not be treating it even if he does have it.

We are more quality of life, both ours and Beaus, as all 3 of us are in our 80's and all three with health issues. 

We are going to try the holistic treatment using natural drugs that are used for atypical Cushing's. We have started Beau on Melatonin 3gms twice daily and HMR Lignans 40grms and see what happens.

Below is just copy of my text/emails with the vet. as a way to document as we go.

Per instructions from the ER Veterinarian visit on Dec 31, 2025, we took Beau to get his urine checked to our vet on Jan 9th. A simple urine sample, and when I made the appt I asked if they could get his sample, because I could not and look at his ear because he has been flapping them a lot. He gave ear meds, checked urine and the charge was 265.00. 

 I received the below text, Jan 15. a review of the urine test.

Sandra and Robert, Beau's urinalysis has been returned and reviewed and, we've got two issues that are a bit perplexing. Firstly, he has some bacteria in his urine -- they are clearly present but one might argue that their numbers are low. And, low numbers in urine samples -- especially those collected by natural voiding -- may only represent contamination. My question to you: is Beau having any sort of urinary issues? If not, I might recommend that we do nothing and reassess his urine (again) in 2-4 weeks. If so, I'll need to dispense additional antibiotics -- different of course. The second concern pertains to his urine's concentration: it's extremely thin and that is not a normal process. Thin urine suggests something is affecting him or his body or his kidneys. At the ER, his urine was thinner; but, now, it's thin. My second question to you: is Beau drinking a lot of water? Let me know the answer to those two questions and I'll give you my perception of the situation. The bigger question in my mind: does any of this have anything to do why Beau suddenly has an interest in eating fecal material? Again, let me know; thank you, Dr. Doyens

I answered that he does drink a lot of water, and no problems urinating.

On Jan 22, 2025, I received the email below one week after the text. I even called twice.

Sandra and Robert,

I've been ruminating on the issues and signs that we've gathered form Beau over the past few months and I've concluded that he may, in fact, have atypical Cushings disease.  The increased water consumption and increased appetite -- inclusive of fecal material — are classic for such (as they are for normal Cushings).  But, if one has "normal" Cushings, there are several indicators in one's blood that reveal such; and we've not seen those.  So, he's likely not "normal" Cushings (although, one doesn't know until one tests and proves such).  And, if he has atypical Cushings, then, that's an easy fix using a couple of natural products — simple, safe and economical. 

My recommendation for Beau is as follows: 1) set up date and time to pursue testing for Cushings disease.  When it comes back: 1) if positive, we treat for Cushings.  2) if negative, we treat for atypical Cushing.  

Let me know your thoughts.

No, Sandra, there is no testing or office visits or anything.  I dispense a natural product (2, actually) that has been shown to be effective in managing Atypical Cushings and you look for a response to therapy.

The one product is $33 for 90 tablets that will last 3 months (= $11/month); the second product is about $23 for 60 tablets and will last 2 months (= $11/month).

I have them in stock and can dole them out at any point.

If you don't treat, in most cases, the Atypical Cushings tends to become regular Cushings.  But, that could be months/years away.

New Years Day, 2025

 

Hi, Long Time No See! Beau and I had prepared his first BeauSpeak post for today, we had to pull it for another day. See those crazed eyes, see that fake smile?

This is how I feel. Most of you might know we were missing in action a lot in 2024, with health issues for Bob, Beau and Myself. The past few months have changed 2025 to the worst year that rivals 2020.

the straw that broke the camel's back was on the last day of the putrid year.

Beau was really sick on Dec 20th, vomiting/diarrhea  for 13 hours, again on Dec 23rd and was fine until New Years Eve, this time only one vomit, but pacing and digging holes like the first time, he paced and I followed every step, for 4 hours, I got on the sofa and let him pace and took him out and this time he was attempting to pee every 60 seconds and could not, after an hour of that and groans and pacing we took him to Bradenton Veterinarian Emergency New year's Eve early AM.

3 hours, X-rays, cystoscope, full lab bloods, and 2 tests i can't remember, the nurse that had taken him away brought him back and said He is a Real Sweetie. I answered he is perfect. She said we know, we took x-rays and cystoscope, balloon, Catharized and he let doctor do it with no fuss at all. 

She said we gave him a shot for pain and nausea, and he will be down for a while. Above is what he did while she explained 5 prescriptions and detailed foods etc. and times and to feed him rice and boiled ground round, breaking his food into 4 meals for the next 2 days. The meds on the left, the chart I had to make to keep track, the phone has all the time. 3 AM & 3PM, 5 pm & 5 pm, 3am 11am 7 pm.

Oy Vey, the good news is all fit with his Gabapentin schedule so that is 5 RX and his 2 normal meds.

We left ER less $1500.00 with a bag of drugs and a drugged but happy Beau.

Diagnosis, Cystitis.

Beaus is pain free and sleeping and eating but no pooping.. yet.

One Snag! I handed her my card and it was instantly declined. OOPS! who knew it would be so much. She said that's ok, just use your Banking app and change it, mortified I said, I refuse to use the app, she said just call the 800 number and the bank will change it. AFTER a five-minute wait on hold, he instantly changed it in just a few seconds, and it worked.

It's 1:30 New years day and as I type this there are many unread posts. I will read as many as I can.
