Village of the Arts has sidewalks

The good thing about The Village of the Arts, is there are sidewalks and walking past we can see details of murals on the walls. The website for the Village has a list of artists, shops and much more. I missed the March 16th festival.

THIS IS THE LAST OF THE Village Photos from March.... I heard you heave that sigh of relief.

this is 12th Street which is the main street of the village. A pleasant place to walk. All shops have different hours. There are restaurants if you get hungry. It is empty because we were there at 9 am, they are NOT early risers.
In 1991 I sold the house on the corner of 12th St West and 12 Ave West, to a man from up north. We were not supposed to say anything to buyers about the safety of the neighborhood. He was a retiree and I did it anyway and said, this is NOT a neighborhood I would live in. He said, we love the house and we will change the neighborhood.

this is Google map snip of 12th ave West and 12th Street West. If you click here you can take a sunday drive down the streets on Google Maps
I sold it to him in 1991 he sold it in 2013. he lived there for 22 years and lived to see the neighborhood change. if on the market now, it would be listed just over 200,000.

Village of the Arts

I found something new to me on Google Earth. Above is the house as I saw it last week in 2024.

Above is the same house snipped from Google Earth maps and how it looked in 2022
Below is how it looked in 2018
I notice the words at the top circled in yellow it says see other years. I clicked on it and went all the way back to 2007. Then I looked at my house and a few others. Some of the homes, we can see the way they were before they were fixed up and painted. Just one more play toy for me.

this snip from Google Map shows you what it looks like in the years before.

this house is not in the Village and is what the majority of houses look like here. I took it because its beautiful to me

Palmettos plants and a bougainvillea above and below the carriage I love and would put it in my yard if they gave it to me. I am a Cinderella Believer

NOT Village of the ARTS

Bradenton has quite a few Spanish Style homes, which were very popular in the 1920's. Awnings help with keeping our bright sunshine out of the homes and helps with lower AC bills.

The area that surrounds the village, and is a few blocks from our home is where many of them are built. I took these on the way back home because I like them a lot.
I might just go on a Spanish Home Drive By Photo Shoot. There are hundreds of them.
Should I or should I not, this is the question.

Artist Love Aqua-Vilage of the arts

The vast majority of the homes are aqua or have aqua on them. Yellow and Rose are on most of them.
These are not all on one street, they are on the cross streets.

All of the above are of the same house, it is very long, on a double lot.
Below are 3 houses all in a row on the same street.
We are almost done

These two are next door to each other, but not the same shades of aqua.
The reason I love this place is the style and age, 1920's, are the style of my
grandmothers' home and I am a huge fan of the style.

Village of the Arts- Aqua

The one above is an art Gallery and is only 5 years old, but blends well with the other homes. Art Gallery downstairs and living quarters upstairs. Fenced and room for an RV.
It will take 3 posts to show you all the aqua

Village of the Arts, YELLOW

Every home needs a fence that matches the house, right???

Yellow, but Not Mellow Yellow!

A dog named Beau lived in a bright yellow house.
Each time he went out, without a doubt, he was happy to have that house to douse!

ready for a new paint job

I call this one the OOPS! house. What think ye?

I ask Bing to draw if life gives you lemons, paint your house yellow...
OOOOOPS!

Village of the Arts-Gold

What could be better for Selfie Sunday than showing you the house I would buy to live in? I would hang a swing on the porch and sit in it and take seflies of me swinging to show to all of you

I would move into this one and leave it like it is. It has a porch, a fenced yard, no grass to cut and lots of Florida Jungle Look. We like privacy, and trees. Gold is not what I would paint my house but this one I like it.

More Apartments in Village of the Arts.

Village of the arts has several of these old apartments that were renovated, and they are really nice.

Village of the Arts is in our downtown area and the city is using it to fill the needs for more housing and to draw more people to the area. Its fun to see the old houses come back to their glory and to see the new homes mimic there styles.

These apartments next to one of the painted homes. They have enlarged the Village by quite a few blocks of homes. This is all in downtown Bradenton, within walking distance of downtown, and the courthouse, city hall, police station. Also walk to restaurants and bars is very nearby.

I think these new buildings are townhomes, there are two rows of 8 each. Could not get a pic of the name to look them up, due to construction traffic. Took this through the windshield.

Ladies in Waiting to be renovated. Most of the homes were built in 1920's
