Dear Walmart, About the Remodel

 

The cockamamie drawing above is the Pharmacy at Wal-Mart Saturday morning shopping. 

Needed, 5 items from this department.  When they did the remodel they created an App, numbered the end caps, ( NOT ALL OF THEM) made smaller spaces, put less merchandise out and created a MESS!

Poking the App I asked where to find 2 items, one was on 29 the other 34. You can see the 34 but I could not. I asked a girl stocking shelves where was 34? she spoke no English. She waved a a woman who met me in the middle and she said oh its on 34. 

I walked to 28, and the 28 you see is a WALL, you can't see over it. The makeup and lotions are locked in side that box you see, with a narrow entrance. I have yet to see anyone at the HELP desk at the door.

She said oh that is on 34, I said I see NO 34, she said Oh, 34 is the whole back wall!  there was no number posted.

I was looking for a tiny bottle, I glared at the whole wall behind SIX aisles, and then found the woman again and told her the item could not be found. She said OH FOLLOW ME... and we walked to the 28and right where you see the word Theft, she stood on tiptoe and Pointed down behind the wall and said we moved it THERE... which is NOT 34 and also HAS NO NUMBER.

IT TOOK ME 20 MINUTES TO FIND 4 ITEMS USING YOU APP, WHICH IS PRETTY MUCH USELESS WITHOUT THE NUMBERS IN NUMERICAL ORDER AND POSTED IN PLAIN SIGHT 

To whom it probably doesn't concern, your useless numbers and app made my dog drive his dad crazy because I did not get home at the right time to take him for his walk. He never barks when i come home. Today he was running in circles and barking when he heard me drive in.

all This was Due to the idiot you must have hired to draw your remodel plan and also the one that approved them... Now that I think about it, I am thinking they did not speak English and neither did the creator of your app. How did the woman placing stock on the back wall no where to put the merchandise? that is what I am now pondering. WHY GIVE US NUMBERS IF WE CAN"T SEE THEM.

Left sweet potato half cooked in microwave, for 4 hours, found when tried to heat left over rice for lunch

Found rice heat pack heated and now cold, when I tried to sit my coffee cup in the microwave and almost spilled it on said rice pack.

I Did not complete the first page of the book on the left because after finding 3 words, my head was hurting

PLUS! got so frustrated trying to find  books m in the new and better Wal-Mart, I nearly had a melt down.

My WM app said aisle K-24, asked two employees, they did not know where K was, I said to the 2nd one, it will be with the books, do you know where they moved them? Yes, they are in the arts/crafts directly across from the cash register of Electronics. Know they were NOT there since I had just come from there, I went back to electronics and the books were smack dab in the middle of the Electronics dept right next to the laptops.

Will I remember where the books are next time? This is the Question!

Wal-Mart Vent Day

 

While washing my hands in the rest room at Wal-Mart, my face that tells all with my expressions, was screaming my aggravation out loud in the mirror.   28 years of shopping every Saturday, 15 of those years telling people who read this blog, that I am a huge fan of Walmart.

My love has dropped from 5 stars to 3 and will be a 2 this week if once again, my aggravation shows on my face again. The remodel has ruined the store, I despise the new baskets, the floor plan, the fact that nothing is where it should be, the stocking of shelves is crazy, they have dropped 9 of the things I have bought for years, and the prices are soaring. there is more, this is the tip of the iceberg.

Walking to my car with the weekly food stuff, I snapped the photos of the brewing storm. My face felt like the sky looked. I came home and filled out the survey on their website and it was not pretty. 

I took the photos because on the ground at 7:08 am, the parking lot was lit with odd lights and above was dark and threatening. 

 

I was sitting still at the red light, not driving

The store opens at 6 AM, I am at the door when they unlock it, and the reason is the store is empty of humans except a few of old people and the people stocking the shelves. 

Saturday, they put everything out over night to get ready for the week end. Sunday the shelves are stripped by Saturday shoppers

The other reason is, the traffic signal above with no traffic, changes and after 8 am looks like the below all day and into the evening. 

While chatting with a check out employee, I told her how unhappy I am with the store. Not a rant/rave, just chatting. She said there are 4 other stores, have you tried them? She was not being snarky; she was trying to help. I had told here 3rd week of 8 to 10 items that are not in stock, and each store is different.

See that traffic? the other 4 stores are several miles of worse traffic than this, and this one is 2 miles from my home, not 7 and 8 miles.

This will change nothing, but the vent did help me.  

Living in the Past

This display is in the Baby department of WM.. I think is beautiful.  I have not looked at fitted crib sheets for many years. They have a few at $10, the rest are $13, $17 and $30 per sheet.  I did not look at the prices on display because it hurts my head to see those prices.

I furnished my entire living room the year we got married, 1963 for 1/2 the money to buy a crib.

109.99 for Sofa, Chair, 2 end tables 1 coffee table. 

Baby Bed without mattress 279.00

Baby Food I bought 10 for 1 dollar. now the same thing is 1.69 for one jar.

When David was born in 1965, someone in our church gave us a used crib, and it was painted for David and again for Daniel 2 years later. There was ZERO decor involved. 

Lucky me, my dad was the pastor of our church, and a church wide baby shower provided a few dozen cotton diapers to be washed and hung to dry. Several crib sheet and blankets, and clothing. We had to buy nothing, but a 4-drawer used chest of drawers, that was then painted and used until they left home. 

The set up on this display cost, would have furnished our entire apartment.

YEP! I am living in the past!

The Re-Model of Walmart

 

Wal-Mart had its Grand Re-opening Saturday the 11th of November. Yes, I was 1 of 10 people who rushed past this new mural that was not there last Saturday. I was astonished it had been painted in one week.

Anna Maria Island is one of our local beaches and only 6 miles from Wal-Mart

It looks good, and reminds me of Sears Roebuck, the store I met my husband in, and we both gave 17 years of our lives too.

Not sure why they wanted to do this, because Sears did not survive.

To me this is a waste of space, less merchandise to buy, and more money spent to create it, and pay someone to dress it up.

I was shocked to my core when told that they did not have time to put in the new floors, because our winter tourist season is upon us, they will put the new floors in January.

COST FOR THE NEW FLOORS IS 2 MILLION DOLLARS.
