January Fresh Fruit

Sunday at break time, this is what I had. Fresh picked off the Ruby Red grapefruit tree in our front yard. Bob planted the tree from a seed 25 years ago.... see story HERE  about Bobby Appleseed Grapefruit seed

this is how I eat mine, with a spoon....

When it looks like this I squeeze the rest of it in my bowl and drink/slurp

Yes, these are sitting in the same sunshine stripes from my dishes, different day, different subject. the stripes are their all morning, begging me to snap

this is how Bobby Appleseed eats his... peels and eats in sections. I do this to when I am not to lazy to peel.

Years ago a man I worked with told me when I get a cold, to heat a cup of grapefruit juice in the microwave and sip it. It taste so good, I do it when I am not sick... Juice works, but I squeeze pulp and juice in the cup, one of these makes 8 ounces.... yum.. and it is better for a cold than chicken soup..

Teeny Weeny Itty Bitty Grapefruit

Our Ruby Red Grapefruit, shown below, were picked on the 17th, we have been eating them since the first week of November. There are still a few in the top. The tree is 23 years old, and guess what?
HUBBY grew it from a ______!
Can you fill in the blank?
Did you fill in the blank with SEED? this tree came home in a wet paper towel in his shirt pocket
When Bob "green thumb" Hubby brought these in, he said come LOOK! (dangerous words to say to a MadSnapper)

There are thousands of these little itty bitty teeny weeny grapefruit pushing out of the flowers, getting ready for November.  can we all say WOW?

Because I could not get a good closeup in the shade of the tree, I picked a couple (gasp here at the waste)

Isn't this about the "cutest" grapefruit ever? a little bigger than a BB

See the flower coming out of the fruit Ginny and Phil?

Here are the things my hubby has grown from seeds (not these, I bought all but the grapefruit) but he has grown bananas and pineapple that we have eaten in the past and now we are waiting on the 45 to ripen.
Our Neighbors and their friends love our grapefruit, it is open for free picking
