Light Bulb Moment
![]() |
| AI and I using Bing Image Creator |
As I pondered, I thought, I did not see a single Walmart Friend today. No night manager, no fun cashier at the self check out, no little Asian lady, no Same age as me lady and no friend from YMCA or the man I worked with before retirement.
A light bulb moment hit my senior brain, The reason I am done early is...... I talked to NOT ONE PERSON.. I feel cheated...
But now after having typed this post, I realized how diverse my friends are and that makes me feel happy.
Cashiers are young, night manager is male and African American, the tiny lady I meet in Publix also, is Asian and has a husband that i the twin to mine, the friend from YMCA is the age of my oldest son and the former co-worker is male and the age of my youngest son. I LIKE THEM ALL...
LESSON LEARNED: If I am in a hurry, don't shop at 6 am on Saturday.

Cottages on 8th Ave-Bradenton
Mother rode the train to Savannah and met my dad in 1942, and married in 1943, I was born in 1944, I traveled those trains back and forth from 3 months old to 29 years old, from Savannah to here and back. 1985 Bob and I married in the courthouse mentioned above.
While riding Beau and taking photos, we saw this bird and I THINK its a Black Crowned Night Heron

While Browsing

| photo from FB marketplace |
Sometimes I like to browse FaceBook Market Place, Local Real Estate. I sold Real Estate for four years from 1990 to 1994. I still love looking at houses. Back then there was no ON LINE to browse. We had a book with photos and had to drive around looking.
The first photo that came up showed the above house, it said it is for rent for 2300.00 per month. The address is about 4 minutes from home. It has been more than 2 years since we last drove the street. I was a few block away after running errands and decided to drive by. LINK to FB page if you want to see inside.
I found two old photos of it before the remodel. I have not done a drive by of this house yet, but will soon. I love it. I was on the street but it did not go all the way through and will have to go try again. Tomorrow you will see the others I found on the same street.

Popular Styles in the 1920's
Back in the Good Old Days, every home had a porch. There was nothing to do inside the homes when summer heat came. The porch was a refuge. The best ones were screened in. Bugs Love Florida.
My grandmothers porch looked like the one above. Remove the brick and the white columns and it is just like it. The swing below my grandfather built in the 20's and it hung on the porch until 1969 when my grandmother died. Mother took it to Savannah, GA from here, and it hung on the back porch until she died in 1990, and I bought it back here and it sat on our pool deck for several months until Bob hung it. Sadly, not on a porch it fell apart a few years ago.
I spent hours swinging and reading on my grandmothers porch and hours I did not enjoy sitting on it in Savannah, shelling peas and corn and snapping green beans. Sadly I no longer look like I did 28 years ago. Max died in 2002.
