More Apartments in Village of the Arts.

Village of the arts has several of these old apartments that were renovated, and they are really nice.

Village of the Arts is in our downtown area and the city is using it to fill the needs for more housing and to draw more people to the area. Its fun to see the old houses come back to their glory and to see the new homes mimic there styles.

These apartments next to one of the painted homes. They have enlarged the Village by quite a few blocks of homes. This is all in downtown Bradenton, within walking distance of downtown, and the courthouse, city hall, police station. Also walk to restaurants and bars is very nearby.

I think these new buildings are townhomes, there are two rows of 8 each. Could not get a pic of the name to look them up, due to construction traffic. Took this through the windshield.

Ladies in Waiting to be renovated. Most of the homes were built in 1920's

The Met Apartments-Village of the Arts

Some of you might remember bright colored houses in prior post of the Village of the Arts. It has been 3 years since we did a drive by shooting of the houses and wow has it changed!
They have repainted most of the houses, and added others and also added apartments.
Clicking on photos will show you the details of the mural. It was hard to get these photos without getting out of the car, I took them through the driver side window.

These are Income restricted apartments, 200 rental apartments, a project of our City and Federal Govt.
The name is The Met Apartments and it is stunning inside and out. Tap the link and there are photos.
They are expensive to me, and very small and they are intended for people who can't afford to pay the rental fees. The restricted income means to rent, you have to fill out a form and qualify, if you make above the median pay rate for our county, you will not qualify.

The good news is, they are pet friendly, it has a dog park and the weight limit on dogs is 100 lbs.
I can't image a 100 lb dog in 586 square feet or 687 sq feet which are studio apartments.

OF COURSE I TOOK a zillion photos.

All photos above taken by MadSnapper and her trusty iPhone 7 plus. The one below I snipped from Google maps to show you how they painted the walls on the balconies to make them fit with the looks of the houses.

to be continued

Arte Coyoacano Gallery

This shop is like an enchanted fairyland.
By the time I found this home, the feels like temp was 110 and I was suffering from heat exhaustion.

This house was next door to the gallery and since it has the same art, it might be the owners home.

More homes than I could snap!

Does SWAMP count as Nature Friday??

Village of the Arts-Artsy

I want to complain. My hubby is 8 years older. He is 83 and I am 75. A week ago we went to the eye doctor and the lady that did his eye pressure test, said to Bob.
"your hair is just beautiful"  Nary a word was said about mine.
Then yesterday he went for his laser surgery on his right eyes. The nurse taking his BP and prepping him, said
"I can't believe you are 83, you sure don't look it"
I was sitting right there, I did not here her say I don't look 75... JUST SAYIN

He can SEE now, they removed scar tissue from his cataract surgery 2 years ago... ZAP! and now he can read the numbers on the NASCAR cars and read his magazines and read the print on the TV..
PLUS he can see in traffic! Not that I was worried about that!
Next Friday the 2nd eye will be zapped.

My first ever Bird Village, I chose 3 to show you close up. See all of them in above collage.

Halloween ART in the Village

Keep Calm and carry a wand. I am 'exorcising"

I have never watched the Wizard of Oz, but do know this must be The Wicked Witch of the West feet. I assume she fell from her broom into the garden in the yard of Casa Da Zoe.

I had to verify before I put the name of the feet and found THIS  and Who Knew? Please let me know which ones you ordered... 😎

Let's have some Skele-fun
I wanted to tell a skeleton joke, but was afraid you would not find it 'humerus'

Overheard in a Crows Bar..... Well, Yes, I have been involved in a few "murders'.

The murder of crows in Boston, discovered all the lookout crows could shout CAH! but not a single one could shout TRUCK!

Divine Excess OH YES

Truer words were never spoken, than the name of this shop! I LOVE IT!

If you look carefully you can see the Casa Da Zoe is right next door to Divine Excess.. Below you can tell they painted the sidewalk purple and painted art on the sidewalk outside the fence.

My Favorite Art at Divine Excess, and there were TWO, one on each side of the entrance.
