Village of the Arts-Artsy

I want to complain. My hubby is 8 years older. He is 83 and I am 75. A week ago we went to the eye doctor and the lady that did his eye pressure test, said to Bob.
"your hair is just beautiful"  Nary a word was said about mine.
Then yesterday he went for his laser surgery on his right eyes. The nurse taking his BP and prepping him, said
"I can't believe you are 83, you sure don't look it"
I was sitting right there, I did not here her say I don't look 75... JUST SAYIN

He can SEE now, they removed scar tissue from his cataract surgery 2 years ago... ZAP! and now he can read the numbers on the NASCAR cars and read his magazines and read the print on the TV..
PLUS he can see in traffic! Not that I was worried about that!
Next Friday the 2nd eye will be zapped.

My first ever Bird Village, I chose 3 to show you close up. See all of them in above collage.

I think that is known as ‘being wifed’. Acknowledging the husband and ignoring the wife like she isn’t there :)

Good to hear about Bob’s results though.

Love the houses!!

Sandra? You should be proud! Afterall, YOU TAKE CARE OF HIM, making him look good. All these ladies are just patronizing Bob...think on those terms & you'll be fine. Besides ... you look mahveliss.

No, what it is, is that those nurses know the man needs to be distracted from what is going on medically cuz they are great big wooses and the best way to do this is to brush their egos. They know YOU know you are FABULOUS!!!

Luvin the bird village~!~ YAM xx

Sorry, but I think that nurse was just RUDE. Reminds me of the time a cashier commented to Tom's DIL: Your kids are so cute! You must have a really good looking husband!"

I'm loving the tree-house of bird houses … some people are so original! Now I'm thinking Tom might could build one in the back yard. Of course, the squirrels would claim it for their own, but that's OK. They're cuter than the birds anyway.

Dang I agree with Mevely 317. That was just rude.

I do love that pic of the bike in #1 and the scarf and all the bird houses.

I get the same thing when Phil and I go out. He is 9 tears older than me...pretty much like you and Bob. In fact, when we go into a store together, it is usually PHIL that the clerk comes up to and asks if she can help him!! They don't seem to care that it is usually the woman who decides on purchases. What a treat today, I really needed something like this to brighten my week. I just adore it!! The bike photo is beyond awesome. I keep looking and see new things. The way they painted the wheels makes them look like wood. And the birdhouses!!! I just love the little condo. If they even sold something like this, it would probable cost a fortune. And is this one of those mini libraries, or just for decoration? I love the way it is painted! This is maybe in my top five favorites of yours in all the years we have known each other. It makes me HAPPY.

I know you look great! I don't think woman compliment woman enough. For some reason I have always thought that man get better looking as they age. Especially when they start getting gray or white hair....but that's just me.

My hubby was 7 years older than me, but I have had white hair for so very long and Jake, although he didn't have many hair, they were still not white.

Men always seem to get the attention and the compliments while the women get ignored. No fair.
Love the bird village and the people in the first picture are so cute.

I am sitting here with a big smile on my face...I almost burst out laughing...you and my nephew can write the best stories. I totally understood all you were saying...I did not know I had missed this....don't know how. You are usually one of the first blogs I visit. Anyway, then there was a comment above that cracked me up, too.

I meant to say we have a Little Nashville here in Indiana...it is actually just Nashville, but everyone takes on the Little to differentiate from Nashville, Tn. On the way there there used to be this dead tree and all the smaller limbs were gone...don't know if by nature or by man, and all the bigger limbs were sawed off and there was a birdhouse on everyone. But it was in these curves and we would be on it and past before I could snap a pic. So after Roger retired, we headed down that way and I was going to get a picture one way or another...he could drive slower since it was not as heavy traffic. (Picture BIG artist's village....it was and is just full of little shops and is always busy on the weekend) Well, it was totally gone...not even the tree was left standing. That is one of the biggest regrets in photography that I did not get a picture of it. The birdhouses were all different, all sizes and shapes and painted pretty.

Love the colourful bird houses (hope the birds do, too?)

My mum got white hair very early while dad still had dark brown hair even until the end of his life (at nearly 80). Anyway, your post reminds me of a story mum told me from a holiday trip they went on in their early 60s or so. At some place where they had reduced entrance fees for pensioners, mum was asked if she was a pensioner, while dad was not asked the same question. Mum said when she told the story "they probably thought I was his old mother rather than his wife..."
