Shifting Sunbeams, Light to Dark

Light to dark and back to bright,
the sunbeams shifted to my hearts delight.
Bush outside the window of the kitchen that is mine,
causing shadows to dance, keeping the time.

It looked like this but much, much slower...Dear Google could you make the gif maker adjustable speeds for the gifs? I needed shifting not blinking
Sorry Yam, I know you do not care for blinking things on blogs

I was born on Sept 5, 1944 and there were no cameras or sell phones or edit programs back then.
All I want for my birthday is this Dizziness I am feeling to go away and not come back again.
I am two years past 3/4 of a century.
Hello age 77! I feel like I am 666!

Backyard Fun

I found a new plant....Hens and Chicks are in this little green pot, and a moss rose has taken up residence in the bottom of the dish, I did not put it there.
As I struggled to get these rain drops and curly cue on the fence, I looked at Hubby's bucket garden and said
"you might as well jerk that old pineapple out and put something else in the bucket, it has had it"
He put on gloves and went to jerk it out, and said

Look! come look!  it has a pineapple in the center.

Hubby left it there. If you CLICK HERE  here you will see what will happen to it.If you missed the story last year, go to labels on the side bar and look at Pineapple home grown

We did eat one off the other plant. since this one is 2 years old it was headed for the trash pile.
Did you know ferns are weeds in Florida and come up every where? these are coming up around the buckets and will be pulled up, but why Not Snap?

Baby Pineapple Part 2

"I suppose you and Bob sent your guy to pineapple heaven and Bob gave the top knot a decent burial"

so says my friend Janice in an email yesterday as to what we did with the top knot of the pineapple. she is RIGHT

Bob pulled the Parent Plant out of the bucket (don't fret, the plants only bear fruit once) and stuck the Baby's top Knot in the same hole next to the plant that is 9 months old
"we shall see, what we shall see"

Hello Next Summer's Pineapple- or NOT.

"Help, I was Clicking and could not stop"

I do realize this might be just a "tad" overkill, but there ARE a few differences in each photo.

Betty White said: I am so old if I want to talk to any of my friends, I need a Ouija board.
do you think they make Ouija Boards for Pineapples?

Our Baby Pineapple

Once upon a time, last summer in fact, my hubby planted in a 5 gallon bucket, the top I cut off the fresh pineapple.
Click on OUR BABY to see why we call it our baby. If you want the whole story, go to labels on side bar.
We had no idea when to cut it, and it turned bright yellow a few days ago. I said it was ready, Hubby said wait. Yesterday, at 6:30 am, i notice it had flopped over on its side. I picket it up with tips of fingers by top knot and if fell off the plant and rolled to the ground.
I said to hubby "ya think tis ready?"
First I snapped it sitting on counter

Then in the bowl with the one I bought at the store for this week.

You can tell the lighting is not all that good in the first two photos, so I waited a few hours and started The Process of Eating Our Pineapple. Above photo is The Set Up.

While hubby hovers, I make the first cut, taking off the end

Next, off comes the top knot

See the pretty slices? on the right are the outsides I cut off, and the top knot.
"Scrumdelicious"
I must say hubby was not very patient, while I documented the surgical procedure. I placed it here, I placed it there, and if I posted all the shots I took, you would be here all day and miss your other blogs.

Can you guess what hubby did with THIS?????
coming SOON, as in TOMORROW
The Rest Of The Story

PS. it was as sweet as eating sugar. Much sweeter than the bought kind. Juice ran down our chins, all of them... ha ha

Amazing Pineapple Update! AGAIN!

I can't help myself. The pineapple changes, 3 times a day, I take photos Morning, Noon, Evening.
Saturday Early AM

Sunday Early AM

Sunday NOONISH

It is hard to believe this is Edible and will be a big fat Pineapple! it looks more like a flower in the noon day sun. In the AM it is closed, but the sun makes it open, at night it closes and gets larger. The fastest growing fruit I have ever seen.

Geneses 1:11 And God said, Let the earth put forth [tender] vegetation: plants yielding seed and fruit trees yielding fruit whose seed is in itself, each according to its kind, upon the earth. And it was so.

12The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed according to their own kinds and trees bearing fruit in which was their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good (suitable, admirable) and He approved it.

Beware the Pineapple!

some of you may groan aloud when you see Once Again Sandra Is On The Pineapple Posting Train.

Yesterday above, today below

the thing is, the pineapple is growing 1/4 inch a day, we are literally watching it grow. I check it at 6:30 am and by noon, it has changed, by just before dark, it has changed again, I have never seen anything grow so fast. (note:maybe staring at a  pineapple causes rapid growth)

During one of many Macro Shots, I accidently touched the sharp edge of the long foliage. At first i thought it was a razor cut, but then found I was the proud owner of not one but five needle sharp spines in my finger.

Seen only under a bright lamp and with the help of tweezers I manged to pull them out.

i was amazed when i google the sentence Beware of the Pineapple. try it! there are even videos!   by clicking around i found this site, Pineapple Fruit Factsif you are interesed there is a lot of info there.

I wish I had found it sooner, this is the sentence that would have saved me PAIN.

Foliage: The long-pointed leaves are 20 - 72 in. in length, usually needle tipped and generally bearing sharp, upcurved spines on the margins. OK, so NOW I know!

I also found it may have purple or red flowers.

BEWARE The Pineapple.......Whoo Boy! My three cameras are READY. Are YOU??

RX Pineapple q.d.

Are you thinking Is She Crazy? where did she get That Title?
RX (prescription) Pineapple q.d. (daily)
In plain English this means eat pineapple daily. See the ugly plant below?

this is a pineaple plant. 2 years ago, my husband had his third bout with Gout. Since he refuses to take prescription medicines for anything other than Blood Pressure (we know what happens to stroke victims) I charged forth with the help of Google and found that pineapple and cherries are the Holistic treatment for Gout.

I began buying a pineapple once a week and leaving it in a container for Hubby to eat a few pieces a day. IT WORKED. Gout has been so much better. Every week I moaned about paying 3.50 to 4.00 for fresh pineapple.

I said "do you realize we spend almost 300 a year on pineapple?"
Hubby said "that's better than 100 per month for a prescrption"
I said " I wonder if we could grow one of these things?"
He said "we shall see" and cut off the top of the one i was moaning over and stuck it in one of his 5 gallon buckets he uses for "trying things out". the plant grew beautifully. 2 months later, he planted a second one. that was more than a year ago. NOTHING just 2 PLANTS.

On the 18th of April, I said "you might as well jerk those plants out and throw them away, if it has not had a pineapple in a year it will not."
I kid you not, the very next day, on the 19th (i know these dated because my camera tells me so) there appeared a very mall ugly little thing (see first photo) and this is what it looks like today.
A baby pineapple. WOW he did it. and i almost threw it away.

You know of course you Will see MORE pineaplle photos in the future.

Now if we could figure out how to GROW our BP prescriptions!
GROOOAAANNN!
