Really Rad Ricecapade

The Senior Moments Continue. While peeling apples to cook for Bob, I placed this 60 second Rice cup in the microwave. Peeled, sliced, added cinnamon and a little water and one package of sweet n low, put the lid on the corning Ware, set the microwave for 5 minutes, took the peels/cores out for the bird, came back, time went off, lifted corning ware out, stirred apples, another 5 minutes and done.
ten minutes and Bob had cooked apples for the week.
2 hours later, I prepared lunch, which was stir fry, and looked for the minute rice, and found it in the microwave cooked into a hard rice ball.
Seems it got it 60 seconds and 10-minute cooking time with the apples.
Lucky me, i had another one to zap and the stir fry had to live with hot rice not cold rice.
You would think I would have noticed it was in there when I put the apples in not once but twice.
Glad I did not have to use the new fire blankets I purchased for Senior Moment Fires.
Guess what? The birds loved the rice ball. I tossed it out with the apple peels, and they ate it first.

Just Because SOMEONE might need to know this.
Store Natural Peanut Butter Upside down, it is easier to stir the oil.
It works great IF you remember to turn the jar on its lid when storing.
Dear Smucker's, please put the label on upside down and store it in the store like that. I mean what if I was OUT of PB and needed to stir it as soon as I got home?
Florida Life = hurricane supplies. I always have 2 Jif for bob and 3 smuckers for me, all year long.
I don't eat much meat, PB is a staple for daily life for me.
From now until November there are usually 5 of each.

How many do you keep on hand? Do you eat PB? What Brand? Crunchy or Smooth.
I eat only Smucker's Natural and always have Crunchy and Smooth on hand.

My dog Beau and Me on Selfie Sunday, Beau eats any brand Peanut Butter, what ever he is handed.

Sticky Rice Get Creative350

350 calories of Yum

Staying Healthy, Slim and Trim the easy cooking way.
Having lived on rice pasta for more than 2 years, I became addicted to Annie Chen Sticky Rice and on a search to find different things to combine with it found this easy-peasy microwave way to make sweet and sour pork. Main dish, 350 calories and I have 2 baby carrots, or beets with it.

Purchase a bottle of Sweet and sour Sauce
pour desired amount in a small sauce pan, drop in a few chunks of pineapple, and a few pieces of previously browned ground, lean pork. Stir for one minute.

note: I stir if I add pineapple, zap in microwave if only heating sauce.

Remove rice from microwave and dump the stuff you stirred on top and YUM
Add a small salad, raw veggies of your choice or cooked veggies. I had one with zapped broccoli.

Note: above is NOT sticky rice, I used wild rice from previous meal. Sticky rice is my fav.

I have so far used Tuna, ground burger, small pieces of cooked pork, even ham.
Any meat, any sauce, and there you have it
I even ate rice under a small amount of bobs Beef stew that I make in a crock pot. Small amounts the tummy can take.

Rice is Nice!

I found another Sticky Rice that is OK but not as good as Annie Chun. 90 seconds in microwave, Wal-Mart was out of the new Annie Chun.

In a comment on prior post Annie Chun Rice David M. Gascoigne, said...

We use rice all the time. The only kind we use is Basmati and we make a huge saucepan full and freeze it in containers with sufficient for the two of us, so in addition to the meal when we make it, we have about six meals ahead. I am not quite sure why you dislike making rice. It’s just rice and water (or broth) in one pot. We also make fried rice quite frequently - two variations, one Vietnamese, the other Thai.

My answer to the why of microwave rice is............................
A. I have no dishwasher, to wash the huge saucepan, that it always sticks to.
B. Our freezer is really small, is only good for a few things, no space to freeze it
C. I get 9 meals out of the Annie Chun Rice
D. I get 3 out of the package above
E. Last but not least, Bob hates rice and doesn't eat it. The rice would stay in the tiny freezer for MONTHS taking up space
Thank You David, I will remember this. bra hahahaha if I EVER get a bigger freezer and a COOK.

Thank You Jackie and Richard

My friend Jackie and her hubby Richard, stopped by the day before Christmas to leave Beau a present.
She did not bring on for me because in the past i have begged her not to give me presents.
After their visit, they went to do errands and about 6;30, while watching a movie, we saw lights shine across the tv screen and i got up to see who was out there.
Richard climbed out and came to the door holding out a bag, he said this is the rice we told you about.

The package holds 3 bowls, all I have to do is zap for 2 minutes in microwave and Voila, I have rice for my IBS diet... Each bowl has 3 servings. Nine meals out of the 3 bowls. Woo Hoo. I can't eat spices and stay on a easy on the symptoms diet. For two lunches,  I just added added broccoli, rotisserie chicken, and a touch of salt.

YUM

for breakfast the nest day, small portion of ground pork, not sausage, for some reason I can eat pork and chicken and fish. those are the three proteins I can eat small portions of. I whisked one egg and added a sprinkle of cheese and YUM.   I have been living on rice pasta for the past year. I hate cooking rice, and this is sooooo Easy.... Rice is my friend. So is Jackie, I am thankful for my new found easy rice and for friends who stop by to give 9 meals to me... if you happen to look for this, it is found in the International Foods, not with rice.
